    Chat with Candeias

I finally managed to chat with Candeias about the 4 nations tourney

He said they lost with Italy fair and square but were "robbed" against Spain (the home team). Portugal scored first, then Spain equalized when the referee fail to stop the game due to the spanish player offside (1-1). Then a Portuguese player was told by the referee to get out of the barrier at a free kick but the spanich player shoot before the barrier was repositioned (2-1). Later, in a similar situation with colors reversed, a Portuguese free-kick had to be repeated. After that, Portugal lost control. Candeias was pissed of about this.

He said Paim is slowly recovering his form after injury but is not 100% fit yet.
He also said Totti did not stay to the games by trainer decision, and his comment on him was "nothing special". Maybe Totti wasn't at his best.

I hope Paim did not suffer a bad injury that will hurt his career.

Candeias said he is not 100% yet, but getting there. Doesn't seem to be that serious.

Anyway, the data I gathared from him in this chat gives me a more positive outlook of the chances of the u17 team in this european championchip. Let's see how the qualifying goes.

    Re: Chat with Candeias

Do you think that Candieas said that Totti is nothing special because he is a striker and would take Candieas playing time?

totti cant predict an injury he needs to work out more so this stuff can be avoided. its a mental capacity thing. if hes strong he will prevail.

    Re: Chat with Candeias

It was the trainer that decided not to keep Totti for the games, not Candeias...
And Candeias as a lot of respect for Paim and André Monteiro, that also fight with him for a place, so my answer to your question would be NO. As I said, maybe Totti wasn't at his best. It's not easy to show up and impress someone that has never seen you play. He may have felt some pressure. who knows? But he didn't impress, neither the trainer nor Candeias. He'll probably have other chances.

Candeias has respect for Paim. He said that Paim "plays a lot" and that it's only natural that Paim shows up in "Championship Manager" and he doesn't (yet, but i'm sure he will!). He also confirmed that Paim is not in top form yet.

Candeias has scored at least four goals (2 against Seia, 2 against Repesenses, against Salgueiros I dont know (porto scored 3) and the other 2 games porto did not score ).
