MLS WPL Table for games through August 25, 2002.

Scores were okay this week, but not great. There were six games, including one blowout, so there were 19 possible points. The 34 (!) participants generated a median score of 7.25. Nobody got the blowout bonus for Colorado's spanking of San Jose.

The Weekly Cup - Out of Touch won the Weekly Cup for the first time, scoring
12.5 points out of 19. Everyone in this week's top 5 is in the Cup. That could
be a first for this late in the season, but it would take more time than I want to spend to find out.

The First Division - Only 2.5 points separate first from fourth, as the tightest and most exciting stretch run in all of sports is arguably to be found right here in the WPL. Last week IASocFan looked like he might be dropping out, but he came back strong this week to move into second place. Everyone in the top 5 performed well, as soccertom continues his now customary late season surge. sljohn achieved his goal of getting back into the top 10. Can he stay there? Fanaddict and Hal also joined the top 10. Whirlwind, tolbuck and NNCRed all moved back into the First Division.

The Second Division - Out of Touch, our Cup winner, moved up 3 spots. Jacen McCullough didn't score quite as well, but jumped 4. LMoroney also had a great week. And themrs. returned from her mid-season break just in time to make it back to the Second Division. Can she hold off joker20 and Jose Couso until the end of the season?
