you guys are throwing around "douchebag" like a bunch of 12 year old girls in health class. keep it up!
Say what? A comma doesn't matter one whit in a Google search query. The reason your search produced different results than his is that you used the plural "bands," not that you used a comma. You'd both have gotten better results if you'd simply spelled "armbands" correctly in the first place.
Gawd...with all the butt stupid things that get said on Big Soccer, and we feel like we can be smart asses because this guy didn't make the connection between the death of a Spanish player and the Galaxy's armbands. I knew about Puerta's death and I was perplexed about the armbands myself. Maybe you folks aren't douchebags...but I do smell the faint wiff of vinegar somewhere.
All the teams in the mexican league did wear an arm band as a sign of respect and recognition for a member of the world of futbol.
And what's wrong with that? Is there something wrong in not only following a team because the almighty David Beckham plays for it?
It's a soccer community/world thing. It's was a tragic thing... Unlike American sports, soccer is worldwide. But I would think maybe if , say Michael Schumacher died in a tragic way....some Nascar, CART, or IRL drivers would wear something...because a fellow sportsman would have died.
Hence - the black arm band...it makes people wonder why...then create a thread on a forum, then find out the story...and pay their respect ....or not (like you)
