Captain Kirk used to bang all the space women, even the green ones, and never got the clap.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Garcia again.

Anyway - Ben quoted a valid point. We should be safe and make those assumptions. I mean, who hasn't seen Red Planet?

Definitely one of the better sci-fi efforts.

I say bring it on. If the genome of Earth life-forms is weaker than that of Mars life-forms, then we don't deserve to live. But let this patriot say one thing: "I don't think so!"

I'm wondering when NASA is finally going to come out and say that there is life on Mars. It seems that with the discovery of methane and the other reports of massive amounts of amonia in the atmosphere that somebody should finally just say it. I certainly don't think the public would be very shaken by it.

BTW, seeing this thread's title had me thinking we were going to have a rollicking discussion of the soon to be filmed remake of War of the Worlds that Spielberg is going to direct.

I'm happy enough with the original (better yet, the novel). Spielberg has made some good movies, but I find most of them rather bland.

Oh, make no mistake, I'm sure Spielberg will screw it up. He doesn't have the sense of "camp" needed to pull it off.

They should let John Waters direct it. He'll give it all the campiness it deserves and then some.
