long time guys, by reading these posts, i could already tell you that we are going into this tournament with a wrong attitude. "YOU NEVER WANT TO UNDERESTIMATE YOUR ENEMY" and that even goes into football matches. I hope our beloved national team does well, but first we must take each opponent with upmost respect and go into the match like its our last match tae
Korea can make it through, Togo? Give me a break, Switzerland? Can be a hassle, but beatable, France? Let's not get carried away. Go Korea!! All the best,
Every single team in this group can be a hassle. Togo plays very physical attacking football from what I heard so they can be bit of a surprise. Switzerland have many dangerous players from big European leagues and it is like a home ground to them in this WC because they are so close to Germany. Whilst France, even though their Golden Generation is over, are one of the best team in this WC and like Swiss, they are very close to Germany I expect this to be a very difficult group for Korea. GO THE RED DEVIL!!~~(not man utd)
Adebayor is a real threat. He's fast, tall, strong and better than Lee DG or Ahn. I say if he's man-marked properly, then Togo is a piece of cake
fo France game, im worried of our defenders getting owned individually, we must play good team defense for Swiss game, im worried of dangerous set pieces, they look pretty scary with their set piece plays for Togo, underestimation
I totally agree with you. For information, France will meet Slovakia (march 1st), Mexico (may 27th) and Denmark (may 31st) before the WC. They plan to make an other friendly match june 7th.
Hey guys. YCash, good analysis. Other thing we have to worry about is goal differential. France, Swiss, Korea are close enough that there could be lots of ties or 1 goal games and goal differential against Togo will determine who goes through. Not only can we not take Togo lightly, but we also can't sit back and have mercy on Togo. We have to keep piling on goals, because that could be difference on going home or getting out of the group.
I'm not very high on the France's defense. I think if we can stop Henry and Trezeguet, and of course Zidane too, then we're good. Good team defense is something we need and some pace too, which we lack in our defenders right now. Seriously, if we can score about 2 goals against the French which is not an impossible task, and play really outstanding defense, then we might have a chance against them. The Swiss game is really a crapshoot at the moment and I don't even know where Togo is in the map.
i agree with you toohypher France sometimes seem to break down so quickly on defense and we can use it to our advantage using the speed
Not only Titi, Trzegol, and Zizou, but Makalele, and Viera (and possibly Wiltord). I'm more worried about Makalele and Viera shutting down our offense, marking, or winning balls, then the attacking trio.
^Agreed. That's exactly what I was thinking. Makelele and Vieira can shut down ANY team's midfield down when they're on. Both of them are straight up gangsters and if our midfielders get shut down, expect to see Korea vs. Saudi(when we played them in Saudi) all over again.
We'll need a big from Park Ji-Sung to take some pressure off the defense and get the ball on France's side of the field. I think our strikers are good enough to get a goal or two past France's defense if they learn to finish better. But I'm worried about Henry, Zidane, and Trezeguet because if Choi JC and Kim JK are still our best defenders during the World Cup, can they really keep up with them?
I think Advocaat has already set his mind on Kim Dong Jin playing the left side, perhaps Kim Jin Kyu in the middle or Yoo Kyung Ryul (prob a sub) and Choi on the right.. we still dont know if we will play 3 back or 4, so that could change during the training camp I honestly think our mids can hang with any group of mids in the world, we just need to take advantages of chances that we will get in the games Making sure we score, when he have the opportunity
For now, I'd rather take Kim Dong-jin's inexperience on defense over Kim Jin-kyu lack of speed. _____Kim Dong-jin_______Yoo Kyoung-youl______Choi Jin-cheul______ OR Lee Young-pyo_____Kim Dong-jin_____Choi Jin-cheul_____Cho Won-hee I would've loved to see some decent defenders from K-League taking over, but too bad Dick and Pim didn't have enough time to look for any players. They also don't have much time to take risks.
I wonder why they dont use Choi Jun Cheul in the middle... I think Kim Jin Kyu is alright, he hasnt made any huge mistakes... Choi, Kim, Kim DJ is an ok line up i guess
Choi Jin-cheul's man-marking is too good to be wasted by playing in the middle. We need a defensive leader who plays smart in the middle and only players who are capable of doing that on our team are Yoo Kyoung-youl or Kim Young-chul. And I don't know about Kim Jin-kyu not making huge mistakes. From what I've been seeing, he's been making mistakes in EVERY game he played so far. Don't get me wrong because I like Jin-kyu and what he brings. He's just not good enough to start for us IMO.
if we find somebody who is capable of playing that position well and who also be smart, I am all with you.
