Then that should answer the previous posters question. Also I never said that they weren't the best in the business. What I can take from all this is that Wilpon has the sufficient confidence in his groundkeeping crew that changing between fields isn't a problem.

Considering that Juventus is going to play Club America on th 26th of July, I would say that you are pretty wrong about your conclusion.

Come on now, realistically what kind of announcement are you expecting? The only thing Garber will say at the ASG is that the league is talking with NYC, Detroit and Minnesota, with NYC being their main priority. Nothing more than what you've heard before.

I'm trying to see this from your point of view but I can't grasp where you came up with the idea that 'baseball is dying'.

Maybe we can get an announcement about a "trialist" coming in ?

I don't think you need a trial to join a PDL team, even if you're race car driver and not a semi-professional soccer player.

Techincally every PDL player is a trialist when they try out to get on the team.. ;-)

So when is Energy Drink going to have some Extreme motorcross rider as a trialist .

Just the fact that the league is full of imported stars, means that there are less Americans playing ball. Otherwise there would be no need for these foreign stars.

Now I don't have attendance figures but it seems that less people watch baseball now or are interested in it than let's say 20 years ago.

Soccer is the rising star. That's all.

Baseball has been steadily decreasing in terms of TV viewership (the major source of revenue these days). It's unfortunate as baseball and soccer are my favorite sports. Though NYC_COSMOS, I don't think it's wise to advertise a pro-soccer campaign by mentioning the failures of baseball. NYC is a baseball town and I don't want to see more soccerphobia in the media.

You could totally do a Vancouver Whitecaps thing over there. There is plenty of room.

I don't know about a motorcross rider but I hear Chad Ochocinco is looking for a job. Oh... nevermind, that's already been tried.

LOL. Everyone knows it's so easy to get off of Randall's island when there are 20K people leaving at the same time.

Dooable isnt good enough for an MLS team - you have to make it really convenient - I mean as a Redbull fan - you should understand what I mean - no?

The meadowlands was dooable but week in and week out for MLS? People will not see it worth the hassle. Maybe us die-hards but not the casual fan which is what the league needs to attract as well.

Also where are you putting the temp stands at Icahn ? You really think the NYC government is going to allow you to shut down their prized track and field facility to put up temp stands. If you go outside the track you really don't have the room for temp stands to hold what you need for around 20-25K .

Went to everyone of those there. What you don't understand is this..palooza is an all day event..so people are coming and going all day. I went to see the US play Ireland in Rugby [got free tixs]. It took 2 hours to get from the parking lot to the bridge. They had maybe 3,000 people. Until they put a train line through Randall's Island, you can't even think about putting 20-30 thousand people on the Island

I have not gone to Icahn, but I went to the torn down Downing Stadium a lot. What I still remember are the benches for seats, and the long latrine in the mens room. Not too classy, to say the least.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate baseball, but I do see it's declining in popularity compared to when I was younger. When I was a little kid, the only topic of conversation was baseball, baseball, baseball. The NFL didn't measure up and forget about the NBA or the NHL. They simply didn't exist.

ProSoccer to me doesn't mean anti baseball or vice versa.
