Whenever the league wide average attendance numbers come out during this season, the Revs seem to be firmly rooted towards the bottom. Of course this might have something to do with the absolutely disgusting weather we had at the beginning of the year but still, I would like to know what would happen if we had a soccer specific stadium like in LA. Maybe a 25,000 seat place with roof plates extending over the seats and a really cosy atmosphere that would intimidate foes with the roar of the crowd. Obviously for the moment that is all a pipedream since the Krafts just built Gillette and aren't exactly able to focus solely on the Revs. Still it would be nice, eh?

I think the Revs would do better in a more urban setting, closer to Boston. A stadium like Fenway that is in the middle of everything would allow for those who are too lazy or tired to drag themselves all the way down to Foxborough to come easily. Some might say these are the fair weather fans and who needs em, but it's kind of discouraging and sad to go to the Razor and see all the empty seats. Besides, if they are rooting for the Revs, who cares why they decided to come? Being in Boston would allow for sports bars and so on eventually, something which Foxborough would be unlikely to offer (Who wants to drive all the way down there for a drink? Not me). I'm sure I've offended those who would have to make twice as long a commute to get to a Boston situated stadium but remember; I'm just daydreaming here. ;)

Unfortunately, this topic has been discussed here ad nauseum.

But one quick thing ... the Revs will not be firmly rooted towards the bottom of the attendance standings. Most likely they'll be in the middle of the pack.

I figured that might be the case. But I don't know how well the attendance figures will end up doing. They were pretty dismal the last time they were released.

See here for the attendance thread that I update each week.

The Revs are currently fifth from the bottom, but Saturday's game should give a nice boost to the attendance figure. The middle third or so is all tightly clumped together.

Interesting as well to note that Dallas currently sits at the bottom. I wonder how the new stadium will affect that...

It will affect it, but apparently with the stadium opening up at only half ready (is that right Kevin?) ... it won't help all that much immediately. By the end of the year, it'll be much better I'm sure.
