Before we get started I would like to say that I think Norway have a good team.
i do not think Australia are better but at the same time i do not think they are worse.

I have created this thread for sensible discussion for the upcoming game. I will be in the crowd and I am really looking forward to it.

For the Norwegians - can I ask, do Norwegians know anything of Australia's good players? Do you think Norway will kick our butts or do you think we will give you a tough game?

i have not created this thread for flaming, i only want to talk about the upcoming game. best of luck to both teams.

After having this discussion on the Australian board, I know that Australia has a good team, even though I do hope we can beat them!

And no, I've never heard of any Australian players..

I would soooo much like to go to London to see this match!!
But why is this match in London, it's not that far to Oslo (or any other place in Norway) wouldn't it be more fun to play the match with a full stadium, then in London where I suppose it wont even be close to that?

I think this will be a tough match, and since I don't know anything about the way Australia plays football, it's not easy to predict a result..
But if the australian aren't that "good physically" (I mean..norwegians can be kind of tall!;)) maybe we can win this match in the air as we did against Scotland!

But if we play like we did against Slovenia (Norway won 3-0) then I do really have a hope that we can win this match with good play!

Australia have some good players, and probably a good team, so I expect a
good, tough match. Norway is still struggeling to find a good formation, with
alot of players going in and out of the team. What matters for me is that the
team performs with good play. Then I will be happy with a win.

It will be hard to say. After all, it is only a friendly! Perhaps Viduka, Kewell and Scharzer will play.

Who is on the roster anyway?

As an Aussie, and being in London, pretty much all the top Aussies who play in the premier league will play, this means, Kewell of Liverpool, Viduka nd Schwarzer of Middleborough, Lazaridis of Birmingham, Emerton and Neill of Balackburn Rovers. We also have two midfielders, Grella and Bresciano from Parma in Serie A- Italy

As for our style of play, we play quite physical too sometimes fouling a bit but not too much, we have quite a large team in terms of phsyical stature. In terms of technical skill, we aren't great across the board but have some good individuals, i.e Bresciano and Kewell. Also our coach is trying a 4-5-1 system which turns into a 3-4-3 system in attack with one target striker up front and two roaming winger/strikers.

Hope that helps? How do you guys play?
Should a good match, may the best team win!

p.s. its in London bec, this is considered a home game by Soccer Australia, and since Australia is too far away for everyone, Norway and our player included, London is like our second home. we have played one or two homegames there over the past year or so :)

If you had scrolled down a little further you would have seen this thread:

but anyways, I agree with what someone said in the other thread where this is a great friendly as both teams have a very good chance of winning. Neither side knows much about the other, so they are both expecting big wins by their teams, but it will probably be close. I'm still picking Norway to win at least 3-1, possibly 3-0 though. :p
