I am curious as to whether Fulham supporters on BigSoccer think Fulham should sack Chris Coleman or keep him in charge. What are your thoughts?

I tend to avoid this question, but here goes: it depends on the club's finances. Fulham are a small club and losing money again - we were only in profit temporarily after the Saha sale. Perhaps a more experienced manager could get a European run out of the squad - but what good is that? If the squad comes in the year after tired, depleted, and with no new players to act as braces against relegation, I wonder what would happen.

Everton had their CL run and have very little to show for it. This year the promoted teams were unexpectedly strong and an established team like Birmingham got relegated. Fulham seem immovable from that midtable finish. More may be possible, but it requires risk.

I followed Fulham all last season and the main reason Cookie Coleman should be the first to hit the sack this year in the Premiership is that he is not consistent and will always pick lineups that will not be able to compete against who Fulham are playing.

Besides he is trimming the budget and the organization is getting rid of some of its more experienced talent, in lue of bringing some potential young guns.

Fulham will be struggling sooner this year than last and will be in a constant 5 or 6 team relegation battle until they can sack coleman for a more experienced manager who can both work with experienced and young talents and be consistent in his lineups and tactics.

I don't think Coleman is doing this. I think Coleman is dealing with a hand being dealt him (budget). Yes, he'd have a much better team if he had another 20m to spend, but even an extra one or two (pds, not millions) seems unlikely. the question is, could a different manager do better with the same money. that's a big maybe, but would fayd put out the necessary for that type of manager?
They looked incredibly meek this weekend, I'll grant that. But they're a very shallow team, and with steed on the bench, boa morte about to be sold and a front line that was never more than hope, I don't see a lot of managers who could take this club well-wide of the relegation zone. I don't think they're heading to relegation, but, like last year, they will be there-abouts through chunks of the season.

Coleman's been dealt a weak hand but he's doing his best to make it even weaker. He should go for not playing Steed. Any decent sports statistician knows that players always play better in the last year of their contract. His "go or don't play" credo might make him sound tough, but it's plain stupid.

Last night and Fulham were lucky to draw a game that they should have romped through. What did they lack? A decent final ball, any creativity on their passes. (Team USA, by the way, should be glad to see the back of McBride based on last night's performance.)

If they can't beat Bolton at home (as they have every year since 2001), they're going down for sure. Coleman should take the fall for that.
