    On The Line:

For those of you who don't know, it's an investgative radio prrogamme over here. Tonight it's about the Shay. Needless to say an issue I'm quite familiar with.

Two years ago we should have had a 13,500 capacity stadium. Four sides, three of which completely built from scratch, one slightly redeveloped. OK we have three sides ready, but our main stand is an unmoving construction site.

We also share now with Halifax Blue Sox, a rugby Superleague side. They sold their ground, with as far as I was always aware, the funds to go into redeveloping the Shay. Never seen.

Now we've just got relegated again. Gone into administration. Still paid more towards the spiralled costs. Both directly and though being able to attract money from the Football Trust.

The club is now going semi-pro (when we can actually afford to get people on contract), with only manager Chris Wilder to be full-time.

    Depressing situation.

Incidentally, Wilder has just cancelled his honeymoon too. Married at the weekend, pre-season trip to Barrow this week instead. Who incidentally caused Stenhousemuir to abdonadon a friendly the other day after less than 20mins through dangeourous tackling.

    Better news now though.

Out of administration, can start getting players signed for the approaching season. Hoping this can be a kick start in the right direction.

And a nice friendly 2-0 win over Sheffield United helps as well. What div are they in now?

Also are the shaymen going to have there games on the radio/internet this year? I know they had some games on last year, but I haven't heard anything for this year yet.

They are still in the first.

Not sure about the internet coverage. According to the official message boards it will be looked into, but looks unlikely. Problem is PTV have put in place the facilities to enable clubs to do this, but whereas they have a good (might even be complete) coverage of the third division, there are only two Conference clubs with the right set up. Halifax being one, Barnet the other.

Indeed, a good way to start. Kerrigan scoring after 16 months too as well. Hopefully that'll do his confidence some good.

Hope to be heading over there next month to catch a game or two.

Unfortunately over the bank holiday weekend (to add to the 2-0 defeat at Morecambe on Tuesday), we've lost 3-0 at Farnborugh, and 5-0 at home to Northwich (two sent off)

A bit better news now, following two away draws, and a home win against Scarborough, we get Doncaster at home. They are top, having just hammered Dagenham at the weekend.

Anyway, went along to the game (along with over 3,000 others), and one of the best I've seen at the Shay.

    Halifax 2-1 Doncaster

Lots of injury time in the game. Over ten minutes played, but end to end stuff throughout. Could have been more. Lee Butler in the Halifax goal in particular was outstanding.

Hope to try and get down to the Deva Stadium next week now.

Phil Clarkson the first, the second was an own goal.

And the Chester game is at the Shay as well . Different direction.

All this talk of the Conference is making me jealous and depressed.

I was going to say something about it wouldn't be so great with tonights game. But actually it wasn't too bad.

    Halifax 0-0 Chester

Chester were the better side, and Halifax never really looked on top for long, but did have a good chance to steal it in the 92nd minute, but a close range header was straight at the keeper standing on the line.

    Another trip to the Shay.

    Halifax 4-0 Kettering

Not the greatest performance I've seen, even this season, but a deserved win. A Ryan Mallon hattrick too. Kettering showed why they are bottom of the division. They'll have to improve a lot to stay up.

Anyway, three wins on the trot, up to 10th now in a crowded table. Home to Margate at the weekend.

Isn't Kettering in a little bit of financial problems? I thought I read that somewhere this week.

A lot. They are up for sale.

A few years back they were proposing a merger with Corby (who were in favour of the deal), so there isn't too much new in it.

Made the trip down to Burton, the 2-1 defeat flattered us.

Also with Lee Butler facing a five game ban (in addition to the game missed from his first career sending off). His arguing given the same ban as deliberately trying to injure a player, and then write about it in a book.

Well missing the Steveange game now this thread.

Anyway, was off to the Shay yesterday to see the game against Burton. Lost 1-0. We lack imagination in attack, Burton took their chance well, but Parke missed a sitter for Halifax.

Need to improve for Friday's game at Belle Vue. Although Lee Butler will return from his five match suspension.
