An article about the Cowfcukers in Naperville. I underlined the parts that are just plain ridiculus.

Ripping off the "You suck, a__hole!" chant? I am shocked that such a classless group of individuals would steal such an original & thought-inspiring chant

I say, as a protest to those Flamers, we never do this chant again. That'll show them!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the fact is that whenever i've seen chicago play at home on the tube, they have seemed louder than anyone else in the MLS. Does louder mean better? Not necessarily.

As for them ripping the ESC off by using the innane chant during an oppossition goal kick, that little ditty is used in variation in virtually every footballing nation in the world, save those where you can have you tongue cut out for using profanity. Thank God the denizens of 101 have all but given up on this one with the exception of a few times late in those tight matches.

About the only original thing the ESC has come up with has been some of the hip hop stuff and God help us all when Shuge Knight comes looking for his royalties/kick-backs.

    While we're at it:
-Though the ESC brought the la, la, la tune back from France 98, it's being done all across the U.S. When it's all the rage in Naperville, it might be time to let it go. Whatever...
-The Theme from the Great Escape is meant do be used upon snatching victory (and those desperation draws) from the jaws of defeat. Singing it at the 27th minute of an uninspired 0-0 draw kinda takes the sting out of it. :( Again, whatever...

It's those freaking surfer dudes again.

And on a related not, does not the "Everywhere we go chant" sound a little odd at home. (Sorry had to say it).

Our 3-part anthem, "Soy de Metro" beats anything in the league -- especially when the drum is loud and holds the beat, like the startup last Saturday.
Our opening chorus must have carried at least to Harrison. :)

Well, Wipeout was used in Ulsan against the Germans when their 6'5" bodies fell at the slightest contact from a 5'8" American.

Thus the chant was born. It was started up at the DC game because the tune is recognizable and there were several quiet moments...That sorta thang.

Ron's right, the only orignal thing we come up with is hip-hop stuff, but apparently, it doesn't always catch on for whatever reason, then again that's most songs in the section these days.

it's also about mic placement. I think they move the mics away from 101 because of our use of naughty words.

While we're on the subject time to crank-out some Andy Williams chants.

(Sorry for repeating this, my original thread on this topic unfortunately turned into a Faria vs. Mathis debate)
