    I think it is a little sad that after the incident, the litigation lasted the rest of his life and still isn't over.

    Only the worst of defense lawyers can't drag a case out more than 10 years.

    Not only did he NOT do it, he saved lives by discovering the bomb. And his life went to shit for it. We really let him down.

    and it should have been thrown out. all of the stories were reports of what the police were doing. the fact that in the end he had done nothing wrong was not something for which is actionable. hell, there are people of a different hue who are thrown into jail for years off of false testimony, who don't get a dime after serving out 10 or 15 years in jail before being released on DNA evidence. it's bad news and extremely unfortunate that he got caught up in the search for someone, but again, someone of a different hue wouldn't have gotten a penny from ANY source. as for the man himself (who again did nothing wrong) ........... may he rest in peace.

    At least he was fully exonerated and vindicated before he died. Small consolation, of course, but it's something.
