This game's a big one if we want to stay in contention for the conference and the Supporters Shield. The big question is whom we'll have back in the lineup for this game. Game's on TV on Direct Kick and on radio on whatever pirate radio stations are carrying our games these days.
I am excited about this one. Due to the college football weekend I will be watching an FCD doubleheader on Tuesday. DCU-FCD then Seattle-FCD. Hopefully I don't go to bed crying that night...although I usually do most nights. I say FCD 2-2 DCU with no Denilson for Saturday. FCD 1-1 Seattle (4-3)PK still no Denilson for Tuesday.
Interesting. I wonder if there exists some club or group for people with similar notions? If not, we should form one.
I agree. One thing I have missed is Sala's distribution including occasional quick counters started by his acurate punts. Burse has one fine defensively but has that annoying habit of hanging onto the ball until all the defenders are in position.
Not anymore. The coaches get to watch him practice. They shoould be able to tell when he is ready. I bet you could go to practice watch him and tell Miss Goalie Mom.
We know how well that turned out for the Benchman game......... I think Ray has earned the starting job (for now) Do I want Sala down the stretch? YEP! Sala needs to be 110% before he's back. His heart alone cannot win games for FCD!!
Which is why we all (morrow included) know that you don't decide based on what Sala says, but what your eyes tell you from practice sessions. Maybe if Morrow's forced to make a gametime decision now he goes a different way. I'm just saying, if both are (truly) good to go then for my money it's Sala.
2-2... Fred opens the scoring, Alvarez ties it, Emilio strikes, and Toja puts one away late (assuming he's playing). Toja will cement his reputation as DC's bogey player.
another late thriller, 3-2. DC goes ahead, we go up 2-1 and DC tie it late only to fall to us in stoppage time.
Toja doesn't play but Denilson gets his visa in time to start and score a free kick goal against Troy "I have no clue how to defend a free kick" Perkins. FCD wins 2-1.
This is a game FCD needs to win. Not draw, win. FCD must win all the home games to have a chance to make Houston come to Frisco for the Conference Final. If FCD is going to be a truly elite team in the MLS, these are the kind of games they have to take full points from. Just as they will need a draw away at New England, and a smack down of Toronto in between. The problem is that FCD is not an elite team, just a team that others beat in the playoffs. Toronto may feel the frustration of FCD, but DCU has little to worry about. As I have a heavy wager on this match, I have a great deal to worry about. Dead but dreaming, Scipio Diabolus, vox fatum. Contra. I am under her spell.
OK, not to pick on anyone (despite the quotage) but this stuff is striking me like ESPNs week-over-week predictions for how the College Top 10 will perform this season. "Then in week 13, Ohio State wins by a field goal over Michigan. But Florida retains their #2 spot with an overtime win over LSU." Wow, it's like I don't need to follow the season this year. Anyway, FCD 6-1 after a bullsh*t PK awarded to DCU (as per usual at PHP, seems like), Toja scores from the bench (no, really) and Gbandi bicycle kicks a line drive into Arturo's forehead that then ricochets off of Ruiz's left foot into the net, which will be credited to Oduro by the FSC announcers.
so I guess hopefully we'll know something by end of business tomorrow regarding Denilson's visa. Has anyone been to practice yesterday or Tuesday? Is Toja still sidelined?
DMN reported today the Toja practiced yesterday and they will see how he does the next 2 days to decide his availability on Saturday. They also talk about Carlos being close to getting his Green Card, possibly freeing up an SI spot... http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/soccer/stories/083007dnspofcdbriefs.370fd9c.html
nope. DC decided to forfiet the game as they knew it would be a waste of time flying out here to get beat down. Toja looked good in today's practice. So did Sala. Ricardinho seems genuinely proud to be a part of this team. Denilson had his first language barrier issue today. I'll have a full report in another thread as soon as I get my pictures uploaded!
