http://northernpitch.com/_/minnesot...ong-mls-favorite-with-outdoor-stadium-bid-r51 Sources say that MLS has provided written support for United’s efforts in building a stadium in downtown Minneapolis, while the team has moved aggressively in recent weeks to make that vision a reality. Northern Pitch has also confirmed that team owner Dr. Bill McGuire recently secured an option to purchase a property on Royalston Avenue, adjacent to the Minneapolis Farmers Market and near Target Field, which has long been speculated to be the future stadium site. Multiple sources suggest an announcement of an agreement to bring United into MLS could come within the next month. A representative from Minnesota United declined to comment on this report.

What's the idea behind the new coach? Are they doing a year or 2 with him and then a bigger coach for MLS? Or do they think he can lead them beyond NASL?
http://www.startribune.com/soccer-insider-united-coach-is-looking-to-add-quickness/364713761/ New Minnesota United head coach Carl Craig is usually part of the Minnesota delegation at the combines, and for the first time he’s viewing the talent as the team’s manager. Craig is looking for more youth and speed for the 2016 roster. “If we can get some young lads into the squad, that be great because we’re getting old, and we’re not as quick as I’d like us to be,” he said.
I have heard people say Craig was the technical coach of the Minnesota United for the last few years. Moreover the club has only said, Carl Craig is the new coach of Minnesota United. They have not said, how long he will coach or the length of his contract. This may be a one year deal NASL which is what I believe rumor has it there are quality coaches who are interested in coaching the Loons. Many of them remember the old days, quality of ownership and the club will eventually play at solid outdoor stadium. There are a lot of plusses for this soccer market. I am looking forward to MLS to see how far this market has evolved over the years.

http://northernpitch.com/articles.h...apitol-for-minnesota-united-stadium-bill-r805 Important Week at State Capitol For Minnesota United Stadium Bill Apr 18 2016 11:24 AM The week is shaping up to be an important one for the Minnesota United stadium tax bills that are currently making their way through committees in both the Senate and House 2016 legislative session. It is believed that the measures will be tacked onto non-controversial omnibus bills. All omnibus bills have to be passed out of committee by this Thursday night setting up an interesting week of wait and see.
http://northernpitch.com/articles.h...get-passed-through-the-state-legislature-r831 yes, the bill is still likely to pass before the state legislature adjourns for the 2016 session on May 22. The long answer is unfortunately very long and still not altogether clear. But that’s not unusual for any tax bill that snakes its way through the complicated rules of the Minnesota State Senate and House. The stadium measure would guarantee tax exemption on the property that the stadium sits on – a provision team owner Bill McGuire has said is critical for the stadium to be built. The bill would also give the team exemption from sales tax on construction materials for the stadium. Finally, Minnesota United is also looking for their own liquor license for the venue yet to be built.
Welcome to the big show! I saw Twellmann post a pic at a press conference making you guys official so congratulations. Can I ask though, who are the kicks and what is up with that logo?
From Wikipedia.... "The Minnesota Kicks were a professional soccer team that played at Metropolitan Stadium in the Minneapolis suburbs of Bloomington, Minnesota from 1976 to 1981. The team was a member of the now defunct North American Soccer League. The Minnesota Kicks were established in 1976 and quickly became one of the league's more popular teams, with an average attendance of 23,120 fans per game in 1976.[1] The Kicks won their division four years in a row from 1976–79. The Kicks drew over 23,000 fans in each season from 1976–79, with attendance peaking at 32,775 in 1977."
