¿is it time for revenge? idk since this is only the 1st group game and doesnt nearly have the signifigance of a knockout game, but i am sure ajax will be pumped for it.
the game is less than 24 hours away and i am happy that i have espn latin america n will see this game.
¿is it being shown in the states?

as posted by AFCA in another thread Grygera is out and raffy is back in the mid, although in the center. heitinga, o´brien, litmanen, and company are still out. imo litmanen is the biggest loss from the group but oh well, it shouldnt matter.
kaladze is the only injury for milan, that is good to hear i guess, not a big injury tho. kaka may get the nod to start, but he´ll have to beat out rivaldo for it.

predicted lineup by a poster on another forum is:
    Lobont
Trabelsi/De Jong, Yakubu, Escude, Maxwell Pienaar, Galasek, Van der Vaart, Sneijder Ibrahimovic, Sonck

i´d give the start to trabelsi but wouldnt mind de jong either.
¿has pasanen been playing that badly not to start?
and j/w how has sneijder played in the last 2 games?
btw i hope yakubu plays as good as i think he is.

The San Siro pitch is the worst Koeman has seen in years.

AC Milan say this is because the terrain manager has broken his leg. But it's probably the Italians way of giving Ajax a hard time. In truly sissy-boy Italian style.

Anyway, Ajax just has to play the game and see how things go. Of all group matches this is in fact the least important. We'll see how it goes.

i'd do PBP but i am also going to a bar i think - if i don't i'll see what i can do

    my predicted lineup

    lobont, trabelsi-escude-pasanen-maxwell,pienaar--galasek-de jong-VDV-sneijder, zlatan

i think trabelsi and pasanen were simply being rested on the weekend - galasek i'm not so sure about his fitness, sonck could get the go instead

I can not wait to hear the champion's league tune again, bringing with it a new season of champions league football.

Too bad there's 2 Belgian sides in the tournament this season, now the Belgian channel will show their games live instead of, for example, Madrid vs Marseille. :(

Already doing some training for when you go to Barcelona I see ;)

Just saw that the Belgians will be showing a Spanish side after all, it's the next best thing I guess. Better get my vcr ready.

You could watch Brugge - Celta and then see the 15 minuts highlite of Ac- Ajax during halftime on Canvas.
Because the belgiums have true public televisions thus without the commercials... oh I love them.

All television, but thats for the public tv (state tv) of which in the us are two channels if Im correct.

The difference between the Belgium and Dutch 'public' channels is that the Belgiums never show commercials. Where the Dutch only run them before the begin, or after the end of a show (choose one :p).

The other channels (commericial channels) in both countries are commercial, they bring commercial breaks which last for about 5/7 minuts.

Just want to say one thing "Commercial,Commercial,Commercial" :p

From the looks of it on UEFA.com the good guys are unlucky not to be up right now.

    0-0 HT

pretty even 1st half - one deserved yellow for van der vaart, one bullsh** yellow for escude - a rather slow pace to this one, but some good battles going on (galasek v kaka, escude v pippo, maldini v sonck)

best AJAX chance - VDV FK strikes the top of the bar

best milan chance - inzaghi cold misses a header, which falls at the feet of a surprised, stationary maldini and bounces away harmless

    best players so far
    AJAX - galasek, escude, pienaar
    milan - kaka, pippo, nesta

AJAX have had success working the right but have lacked the final ball

we also need to stop allowing pippo to get position so deep

    1-0 milan FT

the boys were a bit unlucky to lose this one

on the goal: shevchenko shoots (with cafu clearly 6-8 feet offside) and lobont spills a rebound just for pippo - i've never been too fond of lobont and this didn't help

gattuso is red carded in stoppage for pimp slapping zlatan

VDV is utterly ROBBED in stoppage by dida

obviously it's not the worst thing in the world to lose 1-0 at san siro, but part of me believes the boys deserved a point - part of me is a little unhappy with their play because i think they took that serie blAh sleeping pill, they were too content to play that slowdown italian mess too often - oh well it's only one match and as AFCA pointed out maybe the least important group points - still milan were hardly impressive and were it not for dida could have lost tonight

On the bright side, it sounds like their form has vastly improved from their League play.

On the UEFA tracker it looked like AJAX was down in the 18 for the last 3 minutes of stoppage time. I kept on hitting refresh and swearing like crazy. I am pleased that their form definately seems to have improved, but greatly frustrated especially when our man bluedaddy tells us we were unlucky not to get a point. blah.

One moment of bad luck gave mIlan 3 pointd and us 0.

But they played much better than I thought they would and the U key didn't work.
But better than most of us in 'dam expected. So we're dissapointed by a rather clumsy goal... but we did better than we thought we would. So I'm positive. We can make it. C'mon you yids.

Seriously, we can make this... Ajax can be much better than they were tonite, and at home we are hard to beat. Except when the ref discounts an onside goal (VDV 14th as offside)

OTOH Ajax were lucky in Lyon. That's how international football works.

Bruges - Vigo 1-1... for all of you who thoght brgge were already out at the start. I think the struggle for 2nd place qualification is between brugge and Ajax. I think both teams are stroner than Celta da Vigo.

Ajax had bad luck. Brugge showed their potential. Hard work and Belgian luck (kinda like german... they usually score eventually)

congrats t0 the belgians. let's keep the lowlands honours high and keep milan and celta out. That would be great :D
