    On our upcoming match with Bremen, if I remember correctly, Bremen have nine guys on international duty this week while we have seven.

    Luckily for us, most of our guys will be right here in Europe, so unless there are new injuries after Frei's, there should not be much of a problem. The only guys we have who will do "hard traveling" and only arrive back on Thursday are Valdez (Paraguay) and Buckley (South Africa). I think this will just make it even more likely that our two strikers against Bremen will be Klimowicz and Petric.

    If I had my guess, our lineup will be:

    ============================Ziegler====================================

    ====Degen===========Brzenska=============Woerns==========*Dede/Kruska===

    ============================Tinga====================================

    =========**Kuba===================================Kringe==============

    =============================Federico=================================

    ===============Petric=============================Klimowicz=============

    *= If Dede isn't fit enough to play after his slight muscle tear suffered in the Rostock match, we should see Kruska here.

    **= Kuba reportedly played very well for Poland against Portugal on Saturday evening!

    -------------------------

    Bremen also has eight of their players out injured, including their new future star, young Austrian striker Martin Harnik.

    For the match against us, they should surely be missing Harnik, Torsten Frings, Tim Borowski, and Aaron Hunt.

    Defender Clemens Fritz will undergo a stress test today (Monday) to determine his fitness. Fellow defender Patrick Owomoyela will test his thigh injury in training for them today, while another defender, Pierre Wome, might start training again at mid-week.

    Striker Boubacar Sanogo should also train with them again this week.

    I think of those players, Sanogo is the one who will most likely start against us.

    As far as traveling Brazil players, Diego's match with Brazil against Mexico will not end before the wee hours of Thursday morning here in Europe. Then, he has to fly back here and be ready to face us on Friday night. I think the Brazilian coach will either let Diego go or only play him in the first half of that match.

    I think we really won't know much more before Thursday morning here in Europe.

    The involvement of so many of their key players on Wednesday would seem to give us a good chance of getting something from this match, especially as Werder appear to still be some way off playing as a cohesive unit. While we were fortunate against Hansa, to be sure, those last two matchdays have at least put us back in the middle of the pack and perhaps after this weekend we'll see whether this team is heading in the right direction or only capable of beating minnows.

    Only problem is, we've never had a problem getting up for big opponents when they visit the Westfalenstadion, so I doubt this match will give us any indication as to whether or not they've developed any sort of grit when it comes to home matches. I guess time will tell.

    I think if our guys go out and fight, we have a decent chance of stealing three points. I say that because whether Werder are playing cohesively or not, they still can put a team on the pitch more than capable of beating ours. Werder are deep. We are not. Our starting 11 will have to give one hell off an effort.

    It can be done. The problem is, it's rarely done when it needs to be. At least not over the past three or four seasons......

    We seemed to have a problem "getting up" for Werder at home last season man........

    holy shit!! what a half!! i dont remember smiling that much in a bvb game in a long long time. WOW!!!

    3-0 BVB at halftime
    Klimo
    Petric x2

    Absolutely outstanding perfomances from Dede, Brenner, Petric and Kuba!!

    Westfalen is buzzzzzzin!!! I dont know think its been that loud since our championship season!

    I love the fight from Tinga.. he is getting under Diego's skin and he cant do shit about it. Also, please keep Ziegler in goal until Weidenfeller earns his position back. Perhaps Ziegler's personality is better for this team than Romans?

    Keep it up boys.. lets hope for another 45 minutes of magic.

    Thanks EE. I know that wasn't you guys' best team out there and not a typical Bremen performance. Still, our guys showed up to play tonight and made things happen.

    I love how Federico gives you guys a good balance, I think he will be the steal of this season.

    It was a great win. I just hope the team can continue to give that kind of effort. It wasn't a great Bremen team out there by any means and Diego looked like he just didn't want to play, but we kicked some ass.

    I don't mean to take away from what our guys did at all, but let's be real. That was not the best Werder side out there.

    However, for about 30 minutes, we looked as good as we have since 2002. That was all our guys. Again, I just hope they continue to give that kind of effort. They were strong.

    Went to the game Friday, I'd forgotten how big the ground was, it seems even bigger with people standing behind the goal. One thing I liked was being able to go into the old ground next door for a drink before the match, something you couldn't do at the world cup.
    If the lad who scored the 2nd goal (great finish that) could control a football he'd probably have had a hat trick.
