And there were many others who were better than Zidane, like Zico, Garrincha, Puskas, etc.

    Zico?
    What has Zico won?
Zizou has the game and the trophies:World Cup,Eurocup,Champions League,Italian League,Spanish League.
He has a better career than Zico.

How about Eusebio? He was a big rival to Pele.

IMO,Eusebio is one step below of the greatest ones;he is with the likes of Puskas,Platini,Beckencabuer,Garrincha, etc.

If you think Eusebio was better than Maradona or Di Stefano it is because you are heavily biased.

A lack of trophies doesn't make Zico a worse player than Zidane. Arnold Muhren won every club trophy, doesn't mean he is better than Zico.

Zico and Zidane are both in the upper echelons of the history of the game, although whether they are on a par with Pele, Maradona, Di Stefano, Puskas, Cruyff etc is debatable.

    Of course,it is debatable.
For me,for being considered among the best of the best(4 o 5 best players in the history) you should have tha game and the trophies.
Zidane has both things,Zico lacks the trophies.

If you look at Zico's career though he played for Flamengo where he won 3 titles and a Copa Libertadores, then Udinese who had no hope of the league, went back to Flamengo and then finished in Japan. In international terms he should have won the WC in 82 and probably 86. How Brazil lost to Italy will be debated to this day, and in 86 Zico was not fully fit.

Zidane on the other hand has had the luxury of playing for Juve and Real, joining both when they were the best team in the world. he also won his WC on home turf. All that counts against him.

Comme, by you saying that Zidane had the "luxury" of playing for the best team of that time reinforced Zidane's claim as one of the best of all time. If they were already the best team at that time they saw the only way to reinforce their team by signing Zidane.

BTW, I don't think Zidane is at that Pele or Maradona level, but right under that w/ Beckenbauer, Eusebio etc.
