This looks like a good bet to me, from Betandwin. I can't remember seeing a seven spot up there, and the Galaxy have been playing poorly, to say the least. The oddsmakers must be crazy.

They're not crazy. They're just trying to draw some action on Chivas.
7 for 1 is tempting on an MLS game.

OK, let me get this straight, if you bet that Chivas wins its a 7 to 1 return or is it if you bet on LA to win? Just not following here. I think there is a decent chance for Chivas to take this game.

for every dollar you bet you get:

    $1.45 if LA wins
    $3.60 for a draw
    $7.00 is Chivas wins

    i think

    Pigs Eye (St. Paul),
I'd rate this game much closer to a tossup. Hartman hasn't been playing well (I think he' been on the Tony Meola donut diet), Cobi's been mailing it in, Kirovski can't finish, Donovan and some others are at the Gold Cup. OTOH, the Chivas mid Ramirez is suspended I think.

Those numbers include the return of your original bet.
A hundred on a Chivas win returns $700, of which your original hundred is included. So, the net profit is $600. The odds are 7 FOR 1, or 6 TO 1. Same thing.

The reason CHV is 6 to 1 is that LA has not only dominated every previous matchup, but LA has not lost at HDC in 11 or 12 games. Most of those were Galaxy wins. Only stupid money would make its way to Chivas, IMHO. The best you should hope for would be a tie - and that should be a longshot also. Additionally, CHV is coming off of a win. Bad teams have a tendency to think they have accomplished something after a sigle win. MOre often than not a reversion to their personal mean happens directly after. In English, that just means CHV will get routed yet again.

    LA@1.45 and take the "Over"

Highest Odds Available as of 2p:

    CHI 1.71 3.75 6.35 CLB
    KC 1.6 3.85 7.8 RSL
    NE 2.4 3.25 3.05 DAL
    MET 1.9 3.45 4.9 COL
    LA 1.55 4.00 8.00 CHV

CLB is interesting as they now have a new coach. CHI at home is always a good bet. I'll stick with proven winners
    CHI@1.71

KC at home is good enough. RSL got a point in their first ever road game. They are pointless since with a horrible GD. RSL drubbed 5-1 by hapless Chivas last outing. No brainer.
    KC@1.6

I wouldn't put money on this game period. Two good teams playing short. NE at home has been money all season so I would lean that way, especially at 2.4.
    NE@2.4

MET at home was a question mark, but not lately. COL on the road is iffy at best. It's all reflected in the odds. 4 teams have just 1 loss in thier last 8. MET is one of them.
    MET@1.9

Don;t be tempted by the 8.00 for Chivas. It's like betting against the sun coming up. It will. LA's at HDC, CHV losses. 'Twas ever thus.
    LA@1.55

Even more than that: It's been 16 regular season matches, which is tied with the league record.
