My favorite player was Ruud Gullit, and i've read he used to play for them, are they any good, and do a lot of Brothas live there too, just wondering because a lot of Brothas live in our Harlem in America, actually, my Pop's Uncle was a coach of the Harlem Globetrotters in the 50s, hahahahaah, i had to throw that in.
- Haarlem is nowadays Ajax' satellite - They play in the Gouden Gids Divisie, which is usually referred to as the first division but is actually the 2nd - Today they've won 2-0 to Cambuur (last years they had some good results in this division) - Last week they lost 0-7 to Heracles (doing particularly well the first 2 games) - If by Brothas you mean relatives I doubt it, but otherwise I reckon there will be some yeah
SlamD the gouden gids division IS the first division. Eredivisie 1e Divisie 2e Divisie Only the 2nd division stopped somewhere in the seventies or eighties. Haarlem was once a pretty good club. These days there's not much left of it. Their rivals are Telstar (Stormvogels Telstar Combinatie it's called these days). They have support that is small in numbers but is quite fanatic. Not much left of that now that a lot of the hardcore are banned. They were just about the only lot still going to the matches. Too bad cos they could make a nice atmosphere (considering their numbers). Haarlem doesn't have many black people. They do have Turks and Moroccans. Haarlem is the only place in Holland where people speak Dutch without an accent (so they say).
Yeah, I know... But I still think it's strange the second best league in a country is called the first division (which in my opinion implies it's the best league). And since De Eredivisie is often referred to as the Dutch First Division on various international media (search on Google for Dutch First Division and you'll find results of De Eredivisie on CNN, Yahoo, Uefa, ESPN, Reuters etc.) I thought I had to mention it...
