Is Gibbs suspended for the first qualifier as a result of his red card against Brazil in the Gold Cup? Or did he only have to serve a 1-game suspension against Costa Rica?

    Thanks,

    Does it Matter?

I think it would only require a one game suspension, which the 3rd place match should have satisfied.

I doubt Bruce will call him in anyway. Bocanegra and Pope should be able to handle the middle for the first couple of qualifiers without breaking a sweat, and Convey can take care of the left back spot.

Gibbs was suspended for the 3rd place game vs. Costa Rica resulting in a severely less than 100% Carlos Bocanegra struggling through 90 minutes. We didn't have any other central defenders.

Gibbs is free to play our next game. If we draw an uber minnow, there should be no need to call in anyone who is getting playing time in Europe. Pope, Bocangera and then the Califf, Garcia, Suarez, Petke brigade can back up.

I do also wonder if maybe Jim Curtin or Eddie Robinson might get a look at a camp or two. Both have played well this year.

what have you seen that gives you that idea? the guy is not a left back - not only is he completely lost as a defender, but it just puts him farther away from the attack
