Does anyone really think Erza will be playing with Chivas or is it a ploy for something bigger who expected him to go there.
He's the kind of veteran, versatile player who is an asset on any team. Rongen had a first hand chance to see that with us, but he may well be trade bait as well. I didn't necessarily expect him to go to Chivas over SL, but I did expect him to be picked. The big surprise for me was that Rongen didn't pick Q2. I thought he would be the first of our players to go, and I expected him to go to Chivas. So much for my crystal ball.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a starter for Chivas USA. He is a good, versatile (inside or outside) defender - but (obviously) not the best in the league. While he wasn't in a DC United kit for very long, he was very helpful in our getting to and through the playoffs. I, for one, will miss him.
EZ had a purpose with DC, he was a versatile player that was competant on the field. In other words, he kept Stokes on the bench. I think the move back to LA (where I think his family stil is) is good for him personally. And he can show off what an MLS Cup Championship Ring looks like.
Really? I've got some kind of mental block......my memory jumps from the end of MLS Cup 1999 to this season.
what happens if nellie signs overseas?I think dc took a gamble on not protecting him...maybe like the rest of us not expecting him to go to either team...if they are both gone mr. payne could have a long off season trying to find another (needed) defender...i know they were happy with his contribution and wanted to keep him...in any case the guy has been to 4 of the last 6 mls cups(most of those years with the galaxy), why wouldn't the chivas select him?The galaxy fans, most of which are now going to be chivas fans loved him.
