    Here

Yes it's Bergin, but he's got it up as an official news story and not just a rumor in one of his threads.

It says that Dan Counce has been fired from his post as GM of the Colorado Rapids, but the story also says that he'll be fired "at a later date", which seems rather confusing to me.

Consider the $hitty source for this story and everything becomes clear. I understand Counce doesn't have a soccer role anyway with the new management team so this isn't really a soccer story that should matter much regarding what they put on the field in the future.

You understand wrong then. Last off-season when KSE made changes Counce was moved from GM of everything to just handling players, staff, and other aspects relating to getting a team ready to play a game every week. Charlie Wright took over the financial side of things including Front Office, tickets, promotion, etc.

Greenie (Rapidsfan.com) has been pursuing this story for a week and can get nobody to deny that Counce has been fired. Nobody will confirm it either, but you think if Bergin was way off somebody would come out and deny it.

He should have been fired after changing the teams colors from green to black and blue. Actually, his rationale for changing the colors was far worse than the actual change.

He's a moron. I don't care if he won the Hermann Award in 1970whatever.

His player import decisions were questionable, his coaching selections were questionable, the Rapids attendance has declined since 2002 when they got the US Mexico friendly doubleheader, their game day management gets vilified by the fans who still show up at games other than July 4th.

The dude is a moron. Dr. Evil runs a more competent program.

... and if the story is true, and legitimized by another confirming source, then what?

    Bergin isn't a '$hitty' source.

    Latest from Bergin:

    First, Alexi makes GM.

    Now, Marcelo.

    Next year, Goose?
