    Coastal Carolina 2 H
    Furman 0

First goal was by Ngwenya ... he is so good. smooth and fluid. second goal was an own goal. CCU has dominated play thus far. shots 10-2. CCU is very fast and plays well off each other.

If Coastal wins, I really don't want to hear any more talk about Furman being one of the top three programs in SC. I think it's fair to say that after beat South Carolina twice last year, and taking Clemson to PKs, and then beating Furman, that Coastal needs to be considered in the same breat as the other three traditional powers in the Palmetto State.

Also, Ngwenya IS the real deal. Kid just scores everywhere he goes.

    former coastal carolina forward...

I guess Littlefield bequethed all his goal scoring skills to CC before he left for UVA....

Can someone explain to me how Coastal is able to field such a good team? Is this the start of a program that will consistently be in the top 25, or is this a two year blip on the radar?

    at the end of regulation:
    Air Force 3
    Clemson 3

as for coastal carolina, about half of their players are international. they have several players from zimbabwe and s. africa. i think that they have a great opportunity to be a perennial contender.

I said before and will say it again that I think Coastal will get Clemson on Sunday and go 2-0 this weekend. I think Coastal is the best team in the South Carolina and maybe the other Carolina too. I never heard a Furman fan discount Coastal.

The kid is the man. He creates chances for others and for himself. That combination is very rare in college soccer.

whats going on with clemson at the moment. are they just playing bad defensively? giving up three goals to air force and a few to nc state seems odd. seems all teams in SC are struggling as USC lost to Portland as well.

Last time I checked, Coastal was in Myrtle Beach, SC. Not every team in the Palmetto state is struggling.

As for Clemson, their struggles shouldn't be a surprise. They lost A LOT of talent from last year's team and are very young. Like Furman, they are taking their knocks right now as the kids learn on the fly.

It will be interesting to see if they come together in time to salvage a tournament bid this year.

    Two cheers for Furman

I know you Furman fans are going to get all mad and everything, but I spent a lot of time working on these new cheers and didn't want them to go to waste:

    Lipscomb, Lipscomb, man, they’re lame,
Thanks to them, we won a game!

    Or this one's even better:

    Paladins, Paladins, we’re good too!
One more win, and we’ll have two!

What-cha think? (I've got more if you don't like either one of these.)

V- Obser.....looks like you are a professional fan....Way to go. How's this one:

    Air Force, Air Force,
    Score three goals....
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.......

Seems to me you have spent too much time in the stands. Get out and do something. Take a jog, ride a bike, do something besides sit on bigsoccer and come up with stupid cheers.

The thing is, I dont know why I am even responding to this stupid post. HAHHAHHAHAHAH. My friends are getting mad, but thats the way it is. Clemson is awesome. For me too poop on.....

    I told you so . . . . .

Coastal is the best team in South Carolina

    http://clemsontigers.ocsn.com/sports/m-soccer/recaps/092803aaa.html

Here is the most amaizing stat from the match: Fouls: Clemson 18, Coastal Carolina 10

The ref's at Clemson are often biased. There are a few good ones but some of them act intimitated. So how was it that the fouls were 18:10 against Clemson? Were the tigers that rough? Perhaps CC's Joeseph Ngwenya was good at "drawing" fouls?

Next time I won't go so easy on you...

Here you go, US Fan, I edited your post so it makes sense. Try to follow this pattern in the future.

Seriously, congratulations on the win over Air Force. As they say, any win is a good win.

But for Furman this year, every positive seems overshadowed by the negatives -- in this case a red card on Dempsey in 90th minute. Not smart, Clint -- Furman now travels to tough conference rival UNC-G without their most talented player.

P.S. - By the way, I do jog -- to get away from your FAT girlfriend who wants me more than she wants you! And I do ride a bike - I need the extra speed to get away from YOU -- you want ME more than you want your FAT girlfriend! (Just kidding, I don't even have a bike. JUST KIDDING! But it's pretty funny, huh?)

no, not funny at all ...

and both of dempsey's yellow cards were pretty questionable. it seemed to me that he was fouled harder than the guy that he "fouled" when he received the cards. lots of cards given out today. the ref for furman/air force was giving out cards like it was going out of style. 9 total (5 yc, 2 rc to furman).

Dude, I meant the part about the fat girlfriend was funny.

I feel bad for Clint (and Butter, especially, being a senior) they deserve better than the season they are having.

    Re: I told you so . . . . .

You obviously haven't seen many games at Riggs Field. Undoubtedly, Clemson gets screwed a lot more at home than on the road. You sound like those fans at Furman games that cry everytime one of their players is touched then screams in protest when one of their own is carded for blading somebody. Somebody has to be blamed right? Must be the refs. No way that could just be the way that game unfolds....

i agree fixxxer, and i believe that coastal were actually whistled for more fouls than clemson on sunday. i thought that the clemson/coastal game was relatively fair, though it seemed that the ref called a lot less after seeing 54 fouls and 9 cards the match before.

the fact that some furman fans scream their heads off about calls that should/shouldn't be made is the biggest negative about furman. when fans yell really loudly and dont know what they are talking about, it makes the whole team/school look foolish. i am all about cheering for your team and supporting your school, but if you dont really know about soccer then keep your shouts to "good job" or "way to go."

    Re: Re: I told you so . . . . .

Because I don't see things your way then it's obvious I havn't seen? I would think that $8K a year for four years would buy a better education. Or was it five years?

    Undoubtedly . . . . . . . .

So your argument is that the ref called a fair game, that Clemson was called for 18 fouls, CC was called for ten fouls and Furman blades other players? I fail to see how you go from 18 fouls called by the ref against your team and on to an attack on Furman but then again you are FIXXXER. We've come to expect such things.

    Zidane's right foot
    Refs at Clemson

How many games have you seen at Clemson attacking minded? The refs are average at all fields but some are worse.
Clemson has the same refereeing as everyone but gets screwed in the big games consistently i.e Indiana in 98, UConn in 2000, Indiana 2001 etc...
I think it's fair to say some refs give Clemson as they do Furman and every other school more respect and leverage when they know the players on a consistent basis.

Lord knows when you go to UNC, UVA and above all Indiana that you are going to get homered pretty badly. I doubt you can name a game where Clemson was helped out at home can you?

Don't get all defensive about your fans because you know just as well as all of us that they lack a certain class at times. I guess it's all the little rich kids looking for their rebellious side while they are away at school.

I think you might remember some of your own parents that were really classy fans, I know anyone else who's played there does.

And you try to make a joke about Clemson's education system when you write a sentence like this:
"Because I don't see things your way then it's obvious I havn't seen?"

What does that even mean? Spelling and grammatical errors, nice work Corky. You must really do Furman proud working at Pumpers.

    Re: Re: Re: I told you so . . . . .

Please don't act like you know me or know anything about me. You answered my question. You haven't seen many games at Riggs Field so you really can't say that they get "homer" calls. Do your homework, pal....

The fact that JBin just agreed with me about something having to do with Furman should just about end your input on this issue.
