The Apertura '06 2-0 game was great especially with the buildup we had going and bofo finishing it!

They currently have an offense of 13 goals and 9 goals against Conejo. Our Offense has brought us 6 goals but 5 goals against Michel. This game may end up in a tie. http://www.mediotiempo.com/fmf/primera/apertura_2007/tabla_general.php

Chepo should start the Gringo over Medina and keep Santana in because of contribution of two goals.

The last game I saw in Guadalajara was against Cruz Azul (regular season Apertura 06 in August). We were up 1-0 and 2-1, but ended losing 3-2 with a goal by Sabah. These games are always entertaining.

Something else I've been meaning to mention. While the team is still struggling a bit, I've got to give Chepo credit for experimenting with a line of 4 defenders last game (maybe a 4-3-3?). It's always good that the team can play with variations, and shows Chepo isn't stuck to a single system like Hugo.

It looks like Chepo tried out a 4-3-3 in practice again yesterday.

This should be a good game. Chivas have better players from top to bottom, but Cruz Azul is a better team. The good news is that they can be an inconsistent team (just like ours) so it is possible that the Chivas can catch them on asleep. As it is a game against a group opponent its important that Chivas shoot for the three points.

Where was everybody for the San Luis game? This threads already had more comments than the last match did.

A good first half followed by a terribly boring second half. Medina was invisible during all the time he was in the game. I think Chepo should of kept Arellano in the starting lineup until Medina started to show glimpses of his old self. In my opinion, as a sub he hadnt done anything to warrant starting just yet. And it showed with his performance last night.

Also, when Medina was subbed out why was it for Padilla and not Arellano? Didnt really make sense to me as i think Bravo and Padilla have a very similar style of play. Neither of the two is as exciting as Arellano is with the ball at their feet.

Will Hernandez ever get some minutes to play or is he doomed to sitting behind Padilla and Arellano now? If so, i'd rather the Chivas loan him out to another team.

Overall im glad we picked up the three points. We were lucky towards the end not to concede a goal from Borgetti but the team needs to stop closing out games defending. It will come back to haunt if it keeps happening.

Give it a season or two. Our young guys are getting experience and a little pressure is good for their development. Chivas will be champions in 2008.

I guess the problem i have with this mentality is that really there are only two youngsters that are getting a decent amount of playing time, Arellano and Padilla. I could understand if the Chivas had lost half of their starting line up and was replacing them with youths. As it is Michel, Esparza, Magallon, Rodriguez, Reynoso, Morales, Pineda, Mejia, Araujo, Medina, Santana, Bravo all have at least a season of starts under their belt. Thats 12 players right there, so its not like there is much room for the younger players to come in and get consistent experience.

I'm with Banner (and Hulk) on this. Esparza, Mejia, and Araujo are young, but experienced. Arellano and Padilla didn't even start this week. Did Bofo and Diego mean that much for the team? The team needs to learn to play without Bofo, and Chepo needs to learn to coach without him.

I'll take the wins where we can, and hope for a well-functioning team by the playoffs, but this team should be doing better. I hadn't thought about this until reading it somewhere, but Chivas hasn't scored a single goal in the 2nd half of games this year. That's scary.

In my desire to leave on a positive note, we are the least scored upon team in the league, and have a strong home record (3 wins, 1 tie). If we can start to do well on the road, we'll be on the way.
