Our club chairman, Mr. Hill-Wood has publicly attacked the behaviour of the players on Sunday, saying "We were stupid". He expressed regret at the "senior players", (I thought they all were!), becoming involved in the fracas. Of course the majority of them are the English players so whether that tells a story or not I don't know. More passionate than their continental colleagues, or perhaps just more "stupid". Maybe Mr. Hill-Wood is trying to make a stand before the F.A. make their decision.
Although I think Van Nistelrooy did dive, it was Parlour who started the faracas. The lack of 'Cool Heads' caused it. There was too much tension following the Community Shield match.
not sure at what point in the game that RVN dove. let me know the approx minute so I can review it. thanks.
it's obvious what he means, but you can look at any game for a rvn dive. who was rolling around in pain, rvn or ronaldo (the newest c*nt) ... don't worry we know manure fans aren't too intelligent, if you have any other questions we'll just have to explain it to you.
I loved the look of absolute horror that RvN gave the ref after our vicious, horrid, and hopelessly violent captain ferociously lashed out at him after an obvious explosion of hatred. Get stuffed, van Nosedive.
I'll write this again slowly so you can understand it at what point did RVN dive in the Sunday game? he most certainly didn't go down after Viera kicked out at him. or maybe you're referring to a different incident....
Here's a nice piece on the subject of Sunday http://football.guardian.co.uk/Columnists/Column/0,4284,1047137,00.html
1. When your own CHAIRMAN calls the players action "stupid", it is impossible to really argue against it 2. The players involved in the incident at the end were Keown (English), Parlour (English), Lauren (French and scumbag-of-the-week award winner), Lehmann (German) and erlier on Vieira (French)... that's more continentals
Re: Re: Chairman "attacks" players' behaviour Lauren is FRENCH??? That's news to me AND the French FA. Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do!
Re: Re: Re: Chairman "attacks" players' behaviour My bad, always thought he was French, in the same "French" way as Vieira, Zidane, etc... where is he from then? One of the better African nations, I'd guess?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Chairman "attacks" players' behaviour That would be Cameroon. The other France. You know, I'm starting to dread coming 'round to our own little Arsenal boards with all this constant sniping from our friends from the ManU boards. Get over it guys, move on. Don't you have a match to play this weekend or something? Jeez.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Chairman "attacks" players' behaviour *LMAO* Perhaps we should pass this along to the Cameroonian Embassy as their new slogan for their tourist brochures.
If you look at the main photo being published in the British press then it shows Parlour slapping RvN in the ribs, Keown doing his "war dance" around him and catching him, and Cole from the back. Lauren (via Spain) is from Cameroon.
Saw this in The Telegraph concerning Keane's role in the last 10. VERY good read. http://sport.telegraph.co.uk/sport/...y24.xml&sSheet=/sport/2003/09/24/ixfooty.html
Okay do you want to hear us say it, VanCheatsalot Did Not Dive to get Vieira sent off. He rode his back, kicked him in the ribs on his way down and then went running to the referee like a tattletale in the schoolyard after Vieira "kicked out" at him. Let's see, since he's come to England he also has dived to get multiple fellow professionals sent off, an entire club relegated, punched Keown and Ljungberg and left Sylvain Legwinski in his wake with a bloody nose last year.
Apparently, according to this thread ( https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73816 ) posted by it's_only_ray_parlour, there was some kind of flop at the very end of the game and that was what all the hub-bub was about. I didn't see it when it happened, but the replay is on FSW tonight. Maybe we all need to take a look at that? That thread is the only place I've seen it mentioned, though. Where did you come across that, IORP?
Here's the official statement from the club's board of directors: http://www.arsenal.com/sportsappcon...e&type=com.sportapps.news.NewsItem&id=4094719
I don't understand how anyone can defend Vieira's behavior. Saying RVN deserves a card or punishment for provocation is one thing (and I certainly wouldn't argue it as you just did). But defending Vieira is another. He deserved a second yellow, how anyone can argue that is beyond me. RVN's reaction didn't get Vieira sent off, Vieira's behavior did.
Ah, now I see the justification for the behavior of Arsenal's players on Sunday. I don't see what all the fuss is then. Someone should really let the FA know that, after all, he had it coming. Let's stand behind them, as Arsene would. Good show, lads.
This post makes no sense whatsoever. Either that or it lost the sarcasm in translation; I'm not sure which.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Chairman "attacks" players' behaviour Then we'd miss out on the geography lessons from billyireland.
Rewatched the last 15 minutes of the match last night (actually PVR'd so I could go super slo-mo) and I say the incident that the column that IORP posted in another thread. Damned if on the last play of the match, Edu gets the ball from RvN, turns to fire it upfield, and RvN hits the dirt and looks towards Bennett (I have to assume the way his head was pointed that was who he was looking at. The ball was going the other way). Now, he might have tripped over his own feet, but it just looked so smooth the way he fell. That very well could have been the incident that set it all off. I think most of the players realized that Viera's sending off couldn't have been prevented as he did attempt to retaliate, but they focused on the theatrics. Interesting to note that only three United palyers came to RvN's aid. Keane was nowhere to be found in the after match fracas, and during the Viera sending off he seemed more concerned with talking to PV4 while RvN was getting knocked about. I can't quite remember where I saw it (but I will look for it), but the consensus is that while manUre enjoys RvN's prolific offense other manUre players are distancing from him because of the perception he's a diver. Hell, Keane wouldn't even defend him in the post match interview w/ Sky.
