What is the best choice to watch soccer??? digital cable in my area has fox sports world, but is more expensive than a dish. Dish network offers FSW in a package that is cheaper than if I want FSW on Directv... what is the best way to go???

Well you're lucky to get FSW already. I have DirecTV and love it. You get FSW and an EPL PPV package.

I think DISH is very similiar but someone who has it can give you all the details.

Get the cable if you can. You may also be getting BBC America which has a half-hour preview show and a half-hour highlights show each week. Just something a little extra.

I wish i could get FSW full time on my cable. I only get it from 11:00am eastern to 5:00pm eastern Monday thru Friday. And it gets interrupted if the Fox Sports Net regional channel has afternoon baseball, basketball or hockey. My cable company wanted to add it to it's digital service but Fox would let them. I'd love to have FSW 24/7.

Another reason to get the cable is if you can get a package deal that includes broadband internet as well. If your going to get cable you might as well have the fastest available speed on the net, too.

BBC America does not list "The Soccer Highlight and Preview Show" to air in the next two weeks. I believe you can only get the EPL Preview show on FSW.

The one-hour highlight show was on FSW about 2-3 years ago. Usually on Monday at 11:00 pacific time, right before the live EPL telecast on Monday. This highlight show was produced in the U.K., and had much better quality than the Lionel Bienvenue show.

TWI, as R00 mentioned, is much better than the old show with Lionel and Max Bretos. I'm not positive but I believe the preview show is a half hour long and the highlights is a full hours.

Does anyone know if it will also include news and stories in addition to highlights? Thanks.

Here is what I am doing:

I already had Directv so I went out and upgraded my receiver to Microsoft's Ultimate TV. I purchased the EPL package and already had the FSW and the MLS Shootout. With the Ultimate TV I am able to record 35 hours of programming. So when I'm at work on the weekends I'm recording all the matches and catching up later. Plus if a match gets out of hand I can fast forward through it. My brain is football-logged after this weekend. :) If anyone has Directv already and works weekends I would highly recommend the Ultimate TV setup. If anyone has any questions about setting up let me know since I just went through all the hoops and there are a few tips to make things go smoothly. Until I purchased the new receiver I was reluctant to take the PPV plunge because I knew I would miss half the matches due to work...all is well now. ;)
