I'm heading out on my own for the flight. I'll be staying and standing with the SEs if Paul gets back to me affirmatively on that front.

Anyway, my point of posting is to say that if anyone else is on the JetBlue flight out on Saturday (the only non-stop flying midday from Dulles), let me know via PM.

As far as meeting up, etc. I'll play it by ear and likely follow the crowd from the hotel.

    Cheers,
    Tim

I moved out here to San Diego in July and already have my tickets, 3 in sec 233. Have never been to Carson yet so I can't add anything to what the Tool Box is like.
Would definitely be interested in having a few before game time.

I just wanted to get an idea of how many BigSoccer fans are going to be in LA next week, so I figured I'd start a poll.

Re: MLS Cup Travel Information - aka "The I'm Going To LA Thread" :: DC United Edition

I bought my tickets (plane and game) a week ago before the Mutts game. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn just round the corner from the HDC. Anyone else staying there? I get in at c. 5:30pm on Saturday evening and would like to hook up with any United supporters that are hanging out there too (note I'll have my 12 year old daughter with me so it can't be 'too' rowdy<G>).

We have 2 seats in section 234 - anyone else 'sitting' (yeah, right, we'll be sitting) nearby?

Have a car to fix. If it wasn't for my wife meeting Bambi up close and personal, we would have been there (nothing major and we think the deer survived, but still money that would be better spent on a trip to LA)

Using the excuse of going to LA to visit my wife's brother a couple of weeks ago, I booked flights for me and my wife. The brother used to live here and supports DC United. He picked up the MLS Cup tickets. I had faith that the boys would come through for us (though they almost killed me last night!). We're in the middle section in the upper deck someplace, so we won't be with the supporters groups, but we'll be as loud as we can be. That's three DC fans up above. Vamos United!

Some comparatively inexpensive cross-country last-minute flight info. I'll throw them into the next few posts for purposes of clarity.

    Leave Friday, Return Monday:

American, Northwest, and Delta all have several flights daily out of BWI to LAX for $280.

Northwest: Return flight for that fare leaves LAX at 12:30 AM Monday morning (seven hours after the game ends).

American: Return flight for that fare leaves LAX at 2:25 PM and gets to BWI shortly after midnight. There's also a red-eye for $1 that leaves LAX at 10:55 PM and hits BWI at 6:32 AM.

Delta: Return flight for that fare leaves LAX at 3:47 PM and gets to BWI at 1:13 AM

It also gets into BWI at 1230pm. 8+ hours travel time.

I did a last minute deal on Travelocity, leave Friday, return leaves late Sunday night and arrives at BWI 6am Monday. Flights alone for that are about $350pp, so it's a steal to go the last-minute deal route for hotel/car/flight combo. Click on the link on the flight search page in the top right to see those deals.

    Thx,

    Jay!

    Leave Saturday, Return Monday:

Northwest has the same options as above.

Spirit Air has a 5:00 PM departure out of DCA. You can get the red-eye out of LAX at 10:30 for a 9:10 AM arrival on Tuesday. Price: $268.40

Delta has a 9:50 AM out of BWI with the red-eye (11:56 PM - 9:56 AM) as the return. Price: $277

American has morning flights out of both BWI and IAD. Returning to BWI, the only flight goes from 1:20 PM-12:36 AM, for $280. Returning to IAD, there's a non-stop (10:55 PM-6:32 AM) for $281, and a 6:45 PM-6:36 AM - $291

I bought tickets for Jan and me on Jet Blue, leaving Dulles on Saturday afternoon, and returning on Monday afternoon, on the same flight that the SE's are on. Price for airfare was around $296 each.
