As some of you folks may know, I call 1110am and try to talk some soccer. All this week, Todd Donohoe has been giving away 4-packs of tickets for the US Open Cup semifinal at Titan Stadium. I could never get in. On Wed I was on hold when some dude got the answer right, and I knew it. So today they are doing trivia but the prize they are giving are 4-packs to the Angels. But they also had another contest going--sing your college fight song and you win a prize. Now, I'd really like to win some tickets so I call up. I get on the radio at about 3:10. I ask Donohoe, "If I sing the LA Galaxy Anthem, can I win some tickets for the US Open Cup on Tuesday?" He asks if they have anymore tickets and the engineer says no. Donohoe tells me, "Go ahead and sing it, and if we get anymore tickets, we'll hook you up." So I sing the first verse and the refrain. He says "I didn't know the Galaxy had an anthem. I bet you made that up." I said, "Yeah, I wrote that." Then, he's a little surprised and he and his partner kind of laugh about it, and Donohoe says, "Hey, that's pretty good." So, the guy gets my info and maybe he'll call. I hope so. Maybe getting a free ticket from me will be enough to get one of you guys to pick me up. Did any of you hear me? dawgpound?
Sorry stopper, I wish I had heard it. I was sleeping in between the 13 hours of updates I've been doing a day. Good work! I talk some soccer with Todd a lot. He goes to Galaxy games as a fan every now and again. He likes the game and the Galaxy. I believe he'll be checking out Victoria Street next season!
