If I calculated correctly, there will be 32 games. 600,000/32 games = about 20,000 tickets per game.

    Venues:
    Columbus Crew Stadium (22,500)
    Home Depot Center (27,000)
    PGE (around 20,000 I t hink)
    RFK (60,000? )
    Lincoln field (70,000 around there)
    Gillette (around 70,000)

Anyway, there should be more than 600,000 tickets availble basing on the availble seatings, but 600,000 total sounds about right since not a lot of people will attend games beside U.S. vs. X. If the average for this tournament is 19,000 per game, it is a great success.
Do anyone know the average attendance for WWC 99?

    Portland, Oregon!
For PGE Park, bleachers are being added on the east side (where the baseball outfield usually is), behind the south goal (both of these were done for the '97 WCQ and '99 WWC), and if I understand correctly, also "over" the new beer garden on the side of the main stand. They're saying they can accomodate over 30,000, but I have a feeling 26 or 27 is closer to the truth.

In this article it says 'nearly 30,000' and only a few tickets remain for the 3 games at PGE park.

Interesting fact that I didn't know until reading that article was that both Adidas and Nike headquarters are based in Portland.

This is the reason why there are only about 600,000 tickets for 32 games (approximately 19,000 each).

All games will be part of doubleheaders except the third-place match and the final.

And according to this article http://www.bayarea.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/6763108.htm

Despite the personalities, it will be hard for this World Cup to duplicate the 1999 Cup, which set attendance records for women's sports with 660,000 spectators and 90,185 at the Rose Bowl for the final.

As of last week, about half of the 600,000 tickets had been sold.

The United States opens against Sweden next Sunday at RFK Stadium in Washington, and 26,000 of 56,000 tickets have been sold.

this time around, WWC would be really lucky to have around 560,000 spectators.

  6. WUSA needs another blockbuster WWC in terms of ratings and attendance.

With only 5 days to go, some must be very disappointed.
