I went through that list and it seems pretty fair. This is a hot seat thread without any discussion of what coaches should be on the hot seat. I have a few more to add to the list and will add them at the end of the season. Akron, Miami and Villanova standout to me as being very hot.

Since we can voice our opinion I will voice my opinion that many of the places listed are indeed stupid choices. Take Maine for instance. They know how difficult it is just to get schools to come up there and play them. I seriously doubt they care much about on field success and are comfortable with having a team there that as long as they get decent grades and stay out of trouble they're fine and won't care whatever their record is. Same can be said of St. Bonaventure. Villanova went 10-7-3 in 2019, including making it to the Big East semis for the first time since 2004 after the Fran Kulas disaster. Delaware went 12-7 in 2019 including 7-2 in the CAA so why the hell would you put them on here? Just throwing shit on the wall to see if it sticks. Just because this is an open anonymous forum doesn't mean we shouldn't look at facts and just throw out random names of programs and people who base their livelihoods on this, which in some cases they are actually doing all right (and in some other cases if you define success as winning it won't happen based on poor funding and support no matter who is in charge).

We should probably add Tarleton State to the hot list since they haven’t won any games this year. Pathetic.

Delaware?:laugh: They aren't having the greatest season, but no way that coach is on the hot seat. They were CAA bottom-feeders when he took over and he's made them competitive.

Delaware should be able to draw quality players from MD, NJ and PA. Dude has been there four year (seat might be warm)

Last time Delaware had a winning record in the CAA before Barroquiero got there was 2012. Last time Delaware got to the CAA postseason semifinals before Barroquiero got there was 2011.

In 2019 Delaware went 7-2 in the CAA and went to the CAA semifinals. Very good hire for UD, was a terrific assistant and now doing great things at what was an underperforming program.

If you’re going to throw shit on the wall try checking some facts first before defecating on this board.

Good points and I think some pandemic hit in 2020.

Additionally, the two best players he recruited, Kamryn Stablein and Toni Starova, both got poached after one year by bigger programs. So he's had to work around that, too.

Akron actually won a game yesterday. I’m still assuming they will be making a change after this season but perhaps there is hope.

Eastern Michigan perhaps a little warm at this point? Northern Illinois too?

I just looked at Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois and it’s still in the high 60’s in both locations so it’s comfortably pleasant in both locations. Same with Akron. The biggest flaw with the Zips coach is she is a Manchester United fan, although being Irish you could argue her dislike for Guinness is kind of like treason. I hope she gets a couple more years.

There is something to be said for "fit" at a school/level of college soccer for coaches just like players. Mentioned the "peter principle" here before and maybe in reference to Akron. Herlihy killed it in D2 at Slippery Rock but can't get any traction at Akron. Bummer for her but she took her chances. Hopefully resume remains good enough to stay in coaching when she falls back down the ladder a few rungs. (i.e. look who's coaching at d3 "Transy" right now)

And I would argue staying out of the bars in a college town is very smart for a coach these days- regardless of the quality of their Guinness pour.

Probably out of her depth at the Division I level.

Another overseas hire with no understanding of the student-athlete experience, and middling experience in the women's game.

He also threw his predecessor under the bus to get the job. Good riddance.

To this day never understood why Kentucky gave him a 3-year contract extension while they were mired in losing seasons. He will get paid out the $130,000 amount for July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022. He is still owed $130,000 for his final year in 2022-23. Administration were idiotic to give him that. Now they're stuck with paying him out and trying to find a new coach and probably have to pay good $ for whomever they bring in. What mismanagement.

100% right, however, when UK fired Gillispie, they ultimately settled the lawsuits by paying about $3 million. Notre Dame paid Charlie Weiss $19 million in buyouts. Auburn is paying Gus Malzahn over $21 million. No one at (most) P5 schools is losing any sleep over a mismanaged women's soccer coaching hire that costs them a low 6-figure sum. Sorry y'all, another reminder of our place on the totem pole.

I could definitely see Nebraska being red hot, especially with them now being eliminated from the Big 10 tournament.

North Dakota is warming up very fast too. Only made the conference tournament once and is currently trending completely in the wrong direction, RPI of 305 what a joke.

UMBC is another that needs a change, but I don't think they really care that much.

I definitely see Nebraska’s colors as being red. Not sure if red ‘hot’ but definitely red.

North Dakota- I heard after the Stanford negotiations broke down that they stepped in to discuss terms with Citowicki and are willing to include the meal plan in the contract offer to entice him to the North. Time will surely tell.

UMBC- maybe they need a change but where do they go? Connecticut? Rhode Island? Hard to uproot an entire school.
