All you guys not picking Zusi.....tisk tisk tisk. Do you not remember Agoos? G: Howard, Guzan, Hamid D: Brooks, Cameron, Yedlin, Gonzalez, Besler, Villafana, Zusi M: Pulisic, Bradley, Acosta, Nagbe, F Johnson, Arriola, Bedoya, Zardes F: Altidore, Wood, Dempsey, Morris, Dwyer
GK: Howard, Hamid, Horvath (3) CB: Brooks, Cameron, Gonzalez, Besler, Ream (5) OB: Villafana, Zusi, Yedlin (3) M: Bradley, Nagbe, McKennie, Jones, Pulisic, Feilhaber, F Johnson, Zardes (8) F: Wood, Altidore, Dempsey, Morris (4) Commentary... 5 CBs encase we line up with 3 in the back Ream, FJ & Besler can all play back up LB. Yep, Feilhaber is on the roster so is Jones. McKennie beats out Roldan and Acosta as he impresses in the Bund this fall.
GK: Howard, Guzan, Hamid D: Yedlin, Zusi, Cameron, Omar, Brooks, Miazga, Villafana, Besler M: Arriola, Zardes, Bradley, Acosta, Pulisic, Nagbe, Fabian, Bedoya F: Jozy, Wood, Dempsey, Morris It's all about the tradeoffs. I'm guessing the following are invited into the final camp (assume 30) but get cut / become alternates: Horvath, Ream, Lichaj, McCarty, Corona, Rowe, and Dwyer.
GK: Howard, Guzan, Horvath D: Brooks, Cameron, Gonzalez, Miazga, Yedlin, Zusicry, Garza, Fabian M: Bradley, Acosta, Nagbe, McKennie, Pulisic, Zardes, Bedoya, Saief A: Wood, Jozy, Morris, Dempsey
GK: Howard, Guzan, Horvath D: Zusi, F Johnson, Brooks, Cameron, Gonzalez, Besler, Yedlin, Villafana M: Nagbe, Pulisic, Bradley, Acosta, Zardes, Bedoya, Arriola F: Dempsey, Wood, Morris, Altidore, Dwyer
GK: Howard, Horvath, Guzan D: Brooks, Cameron, Besler, Gonzalez, Miazga, Yedlin, Villafana, Lichaj M: Bradley, Pulisic, Nagbe, Acosta, Jones, Zardes, Johnson, Arriola F: Dempsey, Wood, Morris, Altidore ETA: I originally had McKennie in, but I replaced him with Jones. I think he'd be a great late-game sub if he'd accept the role. ETA, 2: Crud. I forgot Lleget and Rowe. This is hard.
My 23? GK: Howard, Horvath, Guzan D: Yedlin, Cameron, Brooks, Besler, Palmer-Brown, Toljan, Fab, MF: Silk Chocolate, Chandler, Bradley, Carleton, McKennie, Lletget, Jones, Zardes F: Wood, Dempsey, Morris, Dwyer, The Red Baron
GK: Howard, Hamid, Horvath Defenders: Yedlin, Chandler, Lichaj, Johnson, Besler, Brooks, Miazga, Palmer-Brown Midfielders: Cameron, Bradley, Acosta, McKennie, Lletget, Pulisic, Feilhaber, Carleton Forwards: Altidore, Agudelo, Wright, Dempsey
That's an interesting take. Jones and Dempsey for late game heroics. A problem for taking either is if a starter gets hurt ala Altidore in the last WC. Would that make Dempsey a starter? If Bradley got hurt would that make Jones a starter? 23 is not many for a tournament and every backup spot has to cover many different eventualities. Partly luck too as in no one can predict injuries.
Good questions. I don't think we have a good like-for-like replacement for Bradley, but otherwise we seem to have players who can fill in for multiple roles. (Not sure if this is more-so than usual.) Jones is a warrior with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove. I'm hoping he channels it all into a good showing between now and roster selection. I don't really care who makes the cut, just hope they're all showing well at the right time.
Jones is done. He hasn't shown anything for years. We already have a bunch of older vets on the team right now (Howard, Dempsey, Cameron, Altidore, Besler, Bradley), we need to get younger. I can't see the logic of taking Jones to the WC instead of someone like McKennie.
I think BA will bring this to Russia G: Howard, Guzan, Hamid D: Yedlin, Cameron, Brook, Villafana, Besler, Gonzalez, Zusi, Ream M: Bradley, Pulisic, Nagbe, Arriola, McCarthy, Acosta, Bedoya, Johnson F: Altidore, Wood, Dempsey, Morris
I'm sure you could find some way to bring both, but I think they'd probably be competing for the same spot.

Any fan should have loyalty to the best players. If you don't, there's something wrong with your mindset. Its a prediction, as well. Hard to predict how things will be in a year. But Wood really struggled to score goals for his club team last season, and isn't a big help with much else needed for the CF position. He was a big reason why they nearly got relegated. You don't get a free pass because you play in Europe. If you don't produce, you don't deserve to play for the NT.
Only one mention of Saief? I'm still skeptical of Zusi, IIRC Bruce has only turned to him on MLS heavy squads. I think Fab and Cameron should both be ahead on the RB depth chart over him GK: Howard, Guzan, Hovarth FB: Yedlin, Villafana, Chandler CB: Cameron, Brooks, Gonzo, Besler CM: Bradley, Williams, Acosta AM: Pulisic, Fab, Zardes, Nagbe, Saief, Bedoya FW: Jozy, Dempsey, Wood, Morris
Maybe. Or maybe he's just coming off an injury. Sigi Schmid praises "warrior" Jermaine Jones after defensive showing against Seattle CARSON, Calif. – Jermaine Jones is fully healthy the first time in two months and quietly put together his best game in an LA Galaxy uniform during last Saturday’s scoreless draw with Seattle Sounders FC. Jones, who was making just his second league appearance since suffering an MCL Sprain in May, shined against the Sounders providing the defensive stability that the team’s midfield has lacked in recent weeks... Schmid did not hold back when describing Jones’ performance, referring to the veteran U.S. international as a “warrior” after the draw. “I thought Jermaine Jones was really good tonight. I asked Jermaine to play a more defensive role, to sit and stay connected with the two central defenders and he was very disciplined, and he did that job. ... there will be more moments for him to get involved as well offensively but what I wanted from him today he did everything I asked of him, and I thought he gave a great effort."
How could I forget DMB!? He goes. Updating my list. GK: Howard, Guzan, Horvath D: Zusi, Beasley, Brooks, Cameron, Gonzalez, Besler, Yedlin, Villafana M: Nagbe, Pulisic, Bradley, Acosta, Johnson, Bedoya, Arriola F: Dempsey, Wood, Morris, Altidore, Dwyer
