Damn, now we won't have the Khomyak groupies to boost attendance. He was the biggest draw in this area, sans Cienfuegos.......

    It won't be Mitchel.

Rutgers or the Newark Bears' Stadium:

Not to sound like a whiner, but is anyone jazzed about playing in a baseball stadium? Mitchell may suck, but it is at least built for football/soccer. I really don't want to be sitting on the third base line while they play a game side to side in the outfield, watching our wingers like Davis run over second base en route to goal. Just seems weak. I know at Mitchell we are far from the pitch due to the track, but there is a legitimate pitch there, not a ground with dirt on it.

    Where the playoffs at?

Here's the latest (Metro press release)

The MetroStars hope to be able to announce a site for their potential first round MLS Cup playoff game or games sometime early this week. The team had been looking at Yurczak Field at Rutgers University as a potential site, but on Friday the school informed the team that both Yurczak and the Rutgers football stadium, which will be vacant for three weeks beginning tomorrow, would not be made available. Riverfront Stadium in Newark, home of the minor league baseball Newark Bears, remains a possible venue…

Riverfront Stadium would be a great choice. From what I saw there Saturday night not much in the way of additional seating would be needed. There was a crowd of 3900 people and plenty of existing seating was available. The average crowd (actual not announced) at Giants Stadium would fill the place quite nicely. After all the Metros have accomplished this season would a one time playoff event on a baseball field be too much to handle?

With the 2 losses after your original post, this now seems to be a moot point. :(

Is there an award for "Post of the Year?" I want to nominate this one.
