It would be a refreshing change if he actually put someone from the youth team in instead of just talking about it. Having seen Aliadiere play several times I think it's about time he got his chance.

he played well last season when he got a chance, before the injury, I remember his goal as well, seems like he could stir things up in the attack.

I strongly suspect Aliadere had a place in the first team clinched and might have beem first choice by season's end had that injury no side-lined him, and Wenger got too conservative at Season's end and wouldn't risk him. One side benefit of this recent crap...the kids will play at SOME point, probably in January or so...

The kids (especially the defense) will play when the entire backline gets suspended for taunting and shoving van Nistelrooy after Sunday's match.

Is it sad that I'd rather see an untested kid play than Bergie or Kanu?

Not at all is it sad. I think many of us, while we love our old heroes, realize that you have to move forward. Heck, I think one of the reasons that the Mancs have stayed at the top is a liberal seasoning of "home grown" youth along with big name transfers.
