I haven't seen it, but on the radio reviews, they say that the ending leaves you "hanging".... that its missing something.

    Woefully average.

It's great and then the scenes with Tim Robbins and on up to the end, it goes downhill.

for a Sci-fi flic, it was pretty good. Enjoyed it more then Star Wars 1 + 2 (new versions). But you're right about Robbins.

This is how I feel, the movie was freaking INTENSE for 75% of the movie. I agree the ending was a little weak but hell its so hard to do good sci-fi these days I really don't care. This movie caused my girl to hyperventilate at one point and that is a sign of a good movie. Awsome effects, simply awsome... not to mention the sound of the movie in a good theater is insane. I LOVE it when the alien tripod thingy does that warhorn cry, raises the hair on your arms!

Agreed. Although I knew it would end this way if you saw the original! That van scene when they run into that rioting crowd was AWESOME!

Has anyone read the book? Or seen the movie from the 50's? In those versions they died of the common cold. In this version they didn't specify which pathogen they died of, only that they couldn't handle the multiple kinds of bacteria and viruses in our environment.
I thought it was a pretty good movie. And yeah, that tripod warhorn was cool.
But I thought the ending was too abrubt. They should've extended it by a few minutes, you know, to show more aliens dying.

that seems better than their heads bursting from hearing some crazy 30's music, mars attacks was pretty funny when it first came out. But to tell you the truth, these movies are probably right, they are always pictured so "advanced" with all their tecnology, and something very simple is their downfall....like water from SIGNS.

I've seen the original a ton of times, so i know about the cold...

I'd rather have the abrupt ending anyday, then have an 'independence Day' type of ending, where everyone can fly a jet fighter and just punch aliens in the head!

I just saw "mars attacks" for the first time a couple of days ago. Pretty funny spoof on 50's sci-fi movies.
You're probably right, although aliens being done in by bacteria and viruses is a more plausible scenario than water. But I did liked Signs more than war of the worlds. I thought it was much more suspensful.

Well yeah, but War of the Worlds is a much better movie altogether than Independece Day. But those 2 movies have a completly different vibe, I.D is just a good let's kick some alien a55 popcorn movie. War of the worlds is a more suspensful movie. But I still think the ending could've been a bit longer.
Gotta go, the Colombia/Panama game is just about to begin.
    Good luck Colombia
