You can vote for Mike's stoppage time header here. http://www.mlsnet.com/multimedia/pepsi/index.php After watching the replay a few more times, a couple of things jumped out at me. First, the emotion of Petke after he scores is chilling. Second, it was an absolutely perfect ball played in by Alegria, something he hasn't gotten enough credit for in all the post match discussion. Third, Ty Keough is more of an idiot than ever. After the goal he comments that Petke could've been offside. However after pausing the replay a moment AFTER Chino sends the ball in, he's still being kept onside by exactly FOUR people.
That was an unbelievable goal. I was sitting over where Petke came afterwards, the emotion was awesome. And yes he was kept on-side by AT LEAST 4 Columbus players. And for all the heat Alegria takes it was a beautiful pass.
McBride's Goal When I first saw McBride's goal it looked like he went over Prideuax's back, but it was just a poor job of marking in the box. I mean why should we mark the most prolific header goal scorer in the league tightly.
Re: McBride's Goal Um, not to burst your swipe at Prideaux but McBride is on the US National Team to get those head balls in the box. I think he won about 90% of them at the World Cup and while Prideaux is good - he's not good enough to qualify for our National Team let alone some of the one's we played. McBride is that good so he can probably beat almost anyone in the air - of course he breaks like Humpty Dumpty but that is another story...
This was really a great headed goal. It was almost painful to watch the celebration knowing that we went on to lose. Damn OT, this would have been a great finish.
