Looks as though we have two pbp threads going. I'll plan to jump back and forth, as needed, to ensure that when the two threads are combined they will form an unintelligible mess.

I hope he’s fit for this one. Hopppe needs to terrorize the back line again this game.

3 days rest vs 4 days for them. At least we have the week between the end of the group stage and that win over Jamaica, wonder if that helps in terms of fitness. It's a near ideal lineup, but the rest angle scares me for sure. I think Qatar is scoring, probably multiple goals, due to fatigue, I hope it goes the other way, we'll see.

If we don't win this, this tournament will not just be a disaster - it could end in a qatarstrophy

Let’s hope for the early hook for Lletget when he eventually doesn’t track back, passes back, and gets dispossessed all the time.

Other than that, probably our best C team lineup

end of July Austin deep south heat. Weather conditioning advantage: Qatar. This probably feels like a low 70s breeze to them.

Maybe for US fans in Qatar, but stateside this tournament is already a success. A finals appearance would be a resounding success and a trophy would exceed expectations beyond what anyone could have hoped.

Nah, Texas heat is its own special punishment. You get the heat and humidity.

actually, it looks like a bit of overcast there. Humidity will still be awful, but not that Austin nastiness I remember.

Would strangle an ox for a juiceland slushie or smoothie right now, that is a company that needs to aggressively expand outside of Austin.

And that commercial break of Southern Congress street is literally the least amount of traffic I have ever seen on that bridge.

Exactly if they beat us, my students and Qatari friends will never live it down... I don't care what happens after this, just don't lose this one... please...

How much is Qatar paying to promote themselves on Fox and in CONCACAF in this tournament.

    Mr. Q?

FOX do have a vested interest in people not boycotting this tournament next winter

Have been to Doha. It is literally the most horrible, disgusting weather I have ever experienced in my life. I hated with every fabric of my being my existence there for three days. Never, will I ever visit that region of the world again in my life. I would literally prefer to live in Novosibirsk, Siberia, and thats not an exaggeration. It would take nothing less than a guaranteed USA world cup final ticket to go back there.
