Time to retire the old thread as Ajax won two trophies and reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League. Breakthroughs from three academy players: J. Timber, Gravenberch and Rensch were one of the highlights. Unfortunately, Ajax find themselves in Pot 3 for next season's Champion's League. Let's hope for a good run in that competition and that they do get Haller properly registered.
he is still an Ajax player at this point in time. Huddersfield want to keep him but I've not seen anything about a transfer. I think he leaves as all the current Ajax MFs are returning and there are some youth players who are stepping up.
Hearing Ajax might go after another one of my fellow Ghanaians, this time it being Sulemana and I hope that is the case. Sulemana and Kudus would be teammates if this happens.
This name is too similar to Sulejmani, if I was a superstitious fan I'd say it's a doomed transfer from the get go
I'm pretty sure they will sign a 3rd keeper in the summer though. They're gonna have to spend some money on a good one too
They may be hoping that Onana decides to extend his contract. It's weird that Onana has not received any bids at all. Milan just signed Donnarumma's replacement from the French league. I wonder if teams outside Holland don't rate him. Ajax are trying to do a deal with Go Ahead Eagles for their keeper. If they don't sign anyone Raatsie becomes the #3 keeper.
YIKES!!!! We now know which teams will be in Pots 1 & 2 for next season's CL. Based on results, Ajax drop down to Pot 3, just behind Porto in UEFA Coefficient. It looks like another grim year for Ajax unless the draw is extremely fortunate. Best Case Scenario would be to draw Villareal (beatable) or Athleti (tougher competition) which would exclude both Real Madrid, Barca and Sevilla from the group. That still means one of Juve (beatable), PSG, ManU, Liverpool or Dortmund. Lille, Sporting. or Inter would also be reasonable but it would be likely that one of the English or Spanish clubs would be in the group. Death wish is to get Bayern as all Pot 2 teams other than Dortmund become possibilities. This is gong to be a tough CL season. Pot 1: Chelsea Villareal Athletico Madrid ManCity Inter Milan Bayern Lille Sporting Pot 2: Real Madrid Barcelona Juve PSG ManU Liverpool Sevilla Dortmund
Ajax have reached agreement with Go Ahead Eagles for the transfer of GK Jay Gorter with personal terms agreement to follow. Gorter had an excellent season for the team which has been promoted with the best goals against number in the second division.
Onana is refusing to extend deal. So Arsenal is going to steal him according to Verweij: 2m if he's still suspended or 7-9m if it gets lifted.
Onana's doping sentence has been reduced by 3 months following a ruling by the CAS. It now runs until November 4, 2021. He is not going to extend his contract with Ajax so they will try to sell him this summer.
I'd rather just hold onto him. What's the point of basically just giving him away for a few million? Might as well get a final season out of him.
Genk of the Belgian league have approached Ajax for Carel Eiting. The club is managed by John van der Brom who knows Eiting well from his days in the Eredivisie.
Ajax just announced a July 24 friendly against Bayern in Munich. It's doubtful that Bayern will be at full strength as there are a lot of players on the German NT who likely will be given a holiday.
Somewhere said just until 1m Euro but a 30% sell on fee. If he could ever just get healthy, I think he could be a fairly high level deep midfielder. The problem is it sounds like the issues with his knees are degenerative. I don't think Onana is going to go. It sounds like he might just play out his contract then leave on a free. I'm OK with that-- I'd rather get another year out of him than give him away to somewhere like Arsenal for 3m Euro. Still... I thought they were going to get 40-50m for him. HUGE loss.
