7. QPR, 15 GP, 6-7-2, +13 GD, 25 points 20. Stockport County, 16 GP, 3-6-7, -8 GD, 15 points ------ 1 November Edgeley Park ------ Rangers go up 1:0 in the early going with a 19th minute goal from Kevin Gallen! Come on, you R's!
The R's today: Day, Edghill, Carlisle, Forbes, Padula, Ainsworth, Rowlands, Bircham, McLeod, Thorpe, Gallen Bench: Palmer, Pacquette, Oli, Sabin, Culkin
Steve Palmer came on for Marc Bircham in the 6th minute. I presume it's an injury, but I've no idea how bad or of what type because that was before the commentary started working for me.
GGGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLL! Martin Rowlands!! From Kevin Gallen!! Stockport 0:2 QPR just a couple of minutes left until the half
Stockport County 0:2 QPR Half time The commentators say there's some question about who scored the first goal -- the Match Console credits it to Gallen as of now. My commentary came up after that goal.
Some good results today for the R's, who are back in third place with a game in hand. The table: Plymouth 17 GP, 31 +18 Barnsley 17 GP,29 +2 ------ QPR 16 GP, 28 +14 Brighton 17 GP, 28 +8 Bournemouth 17 GP, 28 +6 Colchester 17 GP, 28 +1 ------ Port Vale 17 GP, 27 +1 Hartlepool 17 GP, 25 +7 Five teams have 24 points Two have 23 points Two have 22 points One had 21 points Five are below 20 points
First win in 45 years...but how many times have they played?!?! I probably shouldn't laugh, only following QPR for about the last 12 years or so for all I know they have a long history against each other. Nice to see QPR back in the promotion area with a game in hand on most everyone. Here's hoping they keep it up and thanks Atouk for posting on here so those of us with out the pass can keep updated.
You're welcome. Glad to get some info out there for fellow R's fans. As for the series with Stockport, you were right to guess that it isn't a long and storied one. The clubs have now played just 17 times in all competitions, with Rangers holding the advantage with a 6 wins-7 draws-4 defeats record. Away to Stockport before yesterday's win: 02/03 - D2 - draw 00/01 - D1 - draw 99/00 - D1 - draw 98/99 - D1 - draw 97/98 - D1 - loss 93/94 - FA Cup - loss 89/90 - League Cup - draw 58/59 - (old) D3 - win So, in a roughly 35-year period Rangers only went up there once and have only been playing them fairly regularly over the past six years or so. (FYI, info like that above and things like the referees records and such are found at www.soccerbase.com )
Thanks, I had previously looked at www.rsssf.com for info on league teams. I will give soccerbase a try.
