Beira Mar is a "case study" in Portuguese football, a true example for other teams.

    To DVA-
Wow the firing managers comment was the most uninformed comment I've ever read on here...

You DO know that before Mick Wadsworth (who quit of his own free-will) we had Antonio Sousa (who was fired)... for nearly a decade at the club? In which case, I couldn't be assed to figure out or be able to find a source on the internet to find out who the hell managed the club before him.

I find this ESPECIALLY amusing to come out of the mouth of a Benfiquista, in-fact, I'd find it amusing if it came out of the mouth of any top-3 club-supporters.

But there's more I find obviously wrong with your opinion/comment. You don't make money when you fire a manager, seeing as you pay off his whole contract so he accepts to leave, thus wasting money that was in reserve for future usage. On top of that when you fire a manager, you must hire a new-one, what do managers want besides a wage? An up-front fee of course.

Sorry to make this so long, and a big deal of nothing, but I've been pissed at my damn internet connection for 2 days (Hasn't been working), have to take it out on someone...

Re: Beira-Mar in the black, 5th straight year

are u stupid or what? read my comment again, i said that Beira-Mar DON'T WASTE MONEY i know that Mick quit in his free will and A.Sousa wasn't fired, his contract finished last season, so Beira-Mar DIDN'T WASTE MONEY, firing managers..that's why they made a profit, cause their board aren't so stpid as most of the others teams boards that waste almost of their money Buying and firing managers.
So I'm saying that Beira-Mar's board is an example

I thought you were saying that as a sarcastic comment saying we fired lots of managers or something. Just misinterpreted it, my fault.

That is pretty remarkable. Beira Mar aren't even considered a top-notch team yet they rake in 320 thousand euros last season. Wow is all i can say!

    Beira-Mar (Presidente faz apelo)

Forca Beira-Beira.

No futebol, passado é museu.

    Vamos ganhar!
    Viva o Sport Clube Beira-Mar!

these is the time to stay together, the players need to know that the fans are with the team, and like he says we still got 17 finals, I remember when Antonio Sousa finish the first half of the season with 8 pts and we still come up and finish a respect 13th place.

    Re: Beira-Mar (Presidente faz apelo)

yes I did, Sabee was a great goalscorer, he had a terrible injury to his knee, and he always had problems with it towards his career

that team was probably the last best East Side team

in 1966 we won the state championship, but we had to turn the trophies back when of our players didn't have a C average,
    some of the players
Pinto was the goalscorer, my cousin Domingos know the supertendent of Lafayette st school, central defender] Rui Rodrigues [capt][Deceased] from the gentlemen's shop and later had a cloth store on the corner of Ferry and Jefferson st. Giba [Gafanhoto] also [deceased] who had drug problems,
    etc

    Re: Beira-Mar (Presidente faz apelo)

82-83 the year after Sabee graduated we had another good year (16-3-1). East Side could not compete in county tourney, because of problems in semi's the year before against Caldwell @ Ironbound Stadium. Made all the way to 11th in the state ranking before loosing to Wall when they ranked 1st in state, and incredably Vailsburg (1-0),in a game we totally dominated, and to Columbia (ranked 4th) in state's sectional finals 3-1 @ Kean College. I scored 2 goals in that game (unfortunatly one was an own goal). I believe we finished the year ranked 13th. Rego was central mid, I was left-mid, Jack Silva right-mid, Elmer, John Bento and Babyface up front, Augie anchored the D (weak that year). Neves was the coach.

Don't know match about the post history @ ES except some good players went thru there. Didn't know about 66' but imagine you guys must have been great. I know late 70's with, Manny Vaz, Helder and Rui Fereira and The Doc (Jack Correia) amongst others they must have been good.

for the new guys in our list, Alberto Coutinho is working on bringing either Beira-Mar or Academica to play the Metrostars during the portuguese day festivities, like he did last year with Boavista

I still remember when Beira-Mar played in Elizabeth in the late 80's, against a All Star team coach by Joe Manso, one of the players was Tony Meola, the game ended on a 2-2 or 3-2 result, I just don't remember who won the game

Both of them are good friends. 5 years ago we win the comercial league title (replaced LISA) with basically an over 35 at Gafanhense. Great guys. Also Helder Silva, Manny Silva,Auagie Vaz,Joao Costeira,Rui and Helder Ferreira and Paul that does the webcast with me. I'm sure you will notice most of these guys played locally for Beira-Mar.

I know very soon our moderators will have to close Beira-Mar part II do to the amount of posts

so if its ok with theme we can starter a new thread and keep theme going until the guys at Beira-Mar can get use to this one

You can check Part II by going here
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7064124#post7064124

You can check Part I by going here
    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5242282#post5242282

I did made another mistake, what's new, the moderators will have to move this thread to the club forums.

    I did notify forca sporting

Maybe they can stick our thread at the top of the club forums, I think we deserve it along with Guimaraes and Academica :)

If this thread get's approved then I will notify the beira-Mar fans in Portugal.
