The Burn front three are dangerous, but Twellman will come out of his quagmire and score the game-winner close to stoppage time.

    Revs 3, Burn 2

I can't wait... I'm hoping Twellman scores the game winner right in front of me.

You were able to register a trademark on "Revs vs. Burn"? Is that sort of like Pat Riley and "Three-peat"? ;)

I'm going for 3-1 for the Revs. UConn South's(err.. I mean the Burn's) backline is just too suspect to hold Twellman, Kamler and Moore at bay.

Can we assume that things have cooled down enough in big D that players won't have to worry about their shoes melting?

One positive factor is that Dallas has already gone through the "coaching change high" and "back to reality" phases.

Needless to say, a win is essential.

With a Columbus loss or draw against United, the Revs will will extend our lead to 4 or 5 points - like having a game in hand.

A Columbus win, on the other hand sets up a nice showdown for us vs. DC the following week, with the chance to leapfrog DC and set up the Metros games nicely.

It's kind of hard to lose for us (Dallas) in this game. If we win, well that would be a refreshing change. If we lose, you stay ahead of LA and move closer to DC, potentially increasing the value of the #1 picks we own from both of them.

With our defense, it ought to be a cakewalk for you guys, but if we can avoid the 5-yards offside goals you were given last time and get a decent offensive performance, who knows?

Didn't the Revs lose their last encounter with Dallas, 2-1 at Gillette? I seem to recall Joe Franchino with a big cut on his head, glaring at one of the Dallas defenders like he was contemplating murder.

This is a puzzle to me. I know Burn has given up a lot of goals, but pre-season, your defense looked strong and deep. What happened? Is Gbandi what he was cracked up to be?

Double Yikes. MLSnet's got the game preview. Hat Trick Hero's done for the season, and Double L is out for 2-4, so pretty much the regular season.

    Phenomenal. Hoping Kante doesn't suck.

It's hard to tell. Between the stink of Jeffries coaching still being on him and the fact that in two full seasons, we've seen him in maybe 15 games, I think it's safe to say that the curse of the #1 overall pick is still alive and well.

I'm pretty sure I saw a promo for the game on FSNE... which is good news for those of us in Maine who don't get the Boston WB.

This is a must win game, at least the Revs should view it as one. They can't be scoreboard watchers. They need to suck it up like last year and win games to get them in the playoffs, not hoping for loses. That being said, I'm predicting 3-1 Revs. 2 goals from Twellman and 1 from Noonan.

Every game is a must win game at this point.

No prediction from me... I think some of us may be over-estimating our chances against a team that while being soundly beaten in San Jose last week, put together a solid performance in their last match at Dragon Stadium: a 2-0 victory over the Fire.

We really do have to take the game to them early, we need the defense to not get caught upfield, and Brown needs to have a solid game in goal...

... this is no easy match people.

I absolutely and wholeheartedly agree. Dallas on the Rug is just too unpredictable to contemplate and with our patched up backline and creaking forwards, I just don't know. Last time Joe-Max played what might have been his best game ever in a Rev uniform and totally tooled the Burn. This time he will be warming his toesies by the fire in NE while his mates slip asnd slide on the disaster that passes for a playing surface in Bushville. I don't like the look of it and really worry about the result.

With Joe Max and Llamosa out the burden is totally on Cancela to kill the pace of the game and cause the Dallas defenders to overcommit. While I am certain he is up to the task it is going to take absolutely topnotch off the ball movement by his mates to complete the job.

The D.C. and Mutts matches are going to be so fraught with animosity, bad blood and tension that there will be no question about coming to play. This one is much more difficult in that surgically calculating precision is required to cold-bloodedly do Dallas and get the right result, i.e. three points.

Is that what you call it when he scores one goal which he admits himself was a blown offside call? You know, you're right, that is a total tooling.

But I guess we got our karmic payback in the return game in NE where we were badly outplayed but still won because the Revs came out already counting their 3 points. So the karmic bank account (sorry about the Covey brainwashing) is even. I just hope that the Revs are thinking like the people on the other thread, and worrying more about the yellow card implications of the game than the outcome.

For those of you who haven't seen the Burn since our last meeting, keep an eye on Nhelko. He's a pretty entertaining player, and our points leader over the last 3 games.

Just for the record, JMM is not injured. They are just playing it safe (and smart) to not have him on the turf since that is the cause of his injury.

Regarding the Chicago loss, the Fire are knowned to go into easy matches and blowing them (Burn, Revs). I blame that on the coaching staff, which is why i believe Dave S wont get coach of the year, instead Yallop will.

Excellent! If NE is really "resting" key players, then they are, by definition, looking past this game. Dallas couldn't ask for anything more.

I'm not sure I'd call this "resting a key player". On the one hand JMM has missed more games than he's played, or at least it seems that way, which counts against being a key player. On the other hand we may need him at forward over the last few games and given his injury woes this year, keeping him off the turf gives him a better chance of being available.
