He actually might have called up Pepe as DM and not CD, as he called 4 CD (R.Carvalho, B.Alves, Zé Castro e Rolando.

Actually, this would be the team i would take to the world cup (hoping we qualify), just a few changes.

Danny back when fit instead of Tiago.
    Quaresma back as winger
and Hugo Almeida / Orlando Sá instead of Zé Castro, as we would already have 4 defenders including Pepe as one, and 2 DM Veloso and Pepe.

Something like these, we would have at least 2 in each position.

    Goalkeepers:
    Beto
    Eduardo
    Rui Patrício

    Right Defenders:
    Bosingwa
    Miguel

    Central Defenders:
    Ricardo Carvalho
    Pepe
    Rolando (Fernando Meira)
    Bruno Alves

    Left Defenders:
    Duda
    Miguel Veloso / Miguel

    Defensive Midfielders:
    Pepe
    Miguel Veloso
    Raul Meireles

    Central Midfielders:
    Maniche
    Raul Meireles
    João Moutinho

    Attacking Midfielders:
    Deco
    Danny

    Wingers:
    Cristiano Ronaldo
    Simão
    Nani
    Quaresma

    Forwards:
    Liédson
    Nuno Gomes
    Hugo Almeida / Orlando Sá

Not because he plays for Sporting, but Veloso is playing some excellent ball, and deserves a call up. Unlike Liedson.

I must agree Veloso has really upped his game unlike Liedson but who would you call up since now Almeida is injured.

    Varela? Djalo?

I would consider varela but Liedson seems a good choice ive never seen someone hustle to the ball as much as him. He moves he creates all he needs is to help us score now

Varela is young, but also a seasoned pro from all the years Sporting loaned him out, he could definitely help. Yannick though can't add much, only speed.

What the heck is going on with Makukula, Benfa's pay a ton of money for him, and he's doing what in Seixal?

José Castro was impressive for Deportivo, definitely the best player in that team. I'm not fond of Rolando so this comes in a good time.
    D. Carriço should be considered too.

    +1 But I've seen worse:
How Carvalho and Eduardo get benched makes no sense Deco as a trinco? Meireles with another undeserved start? Who knows knowing CQ there is more chance of this happening then going with an attacking lineup. Carlos I'm sure still thinks that drawing every game will get Portugal to the world cup. I mean it worked so well in 93.

you guys talk bad about this lineup, but this is closer to what we will see on Saturday, judging from what I have been reading.

I did say that we are more likely to see that line up. But That's the type of lineups we have been seeing and the results are in 0-0 Draw.

We are at our best when we play attacking and leave space for the opposition to try and play with the ball. All the DM's just lead to us not scoring and give false sense of security which leads to counters.

I am sorry, but we cannot play Moutinho against this Denmark team. If we play him the midfield will suffer...

Guys, there's no way Liedson starts this game. The biggest game of the NT Qualifying against the toughest team in our group on the road and you want Liedson to start in his debut?! No way, the guy would be incredibly nervous and the team would have had 1 week exactly playing with him. The team is already such a nervous bunch since Queiroz took over - this kind of desperate last-minute naturalized Brazilian striker to save-our-a$$ thing just reeks of desperation. Let the team settle down and then have Liedson be the "injection of energy" sub early in the 2nd half. If you start Liedson and he tanks, who the hell can we bring in to spice things up? Almeida?!?
I am guessing that CQ will start H. Almeida in some
kind of pseudo 4-4-2 with Simao/Ronaldo alternating as 2nd strikers/wingers with Nani on the opposite flank. Then at minute 60-70, he'll bring Liedson on for Almeida.
Actually, the rest of the lineup I think is much more up-in-the-air. I assume that he'll keep Eduardo in goal, right? Maybe.
But what about Midfield? That is a complete toss-up. It's so early in the season - who is match ready? Tiago played well for Juve last weekend from what I hear. He might get the start. Or he could choose to start Deco and bring in Tiago to replace him. Either option I prefer over Moutinho.

    My prediction:

    ----------Eduardo----------------
    Bos -- Pepe -- B.Alves -- Duda
    Nani -- R. Meireles -- Deco -- Simao
    -- Ronaldo -- H. Almeida --

But there's a lot of other ways to go. Carvalho for Pepe if Pepe plays DM (for Meireles). Tiago for Deco, etc... He might also consider playing a 4-2-3-1, especially as we are playing in Denmark.

This is a real tough game, especially this early in the season (not that we are that great late in last season... ;-) ).
