I admit I know nothing about marketing but I think MLS needs to start making more noise, even if they have a small budget. It's not easy to know what they should do but I think it's time to get in peoples face with the limited time they can afford. I don't know how well soccer is percieved in the mainstream but I think an agressive approach would be nice to get people talking.
For instance show MLS as a branch of the world's biggest sport. Show pictures of how big the sport is abroad and show how the US will be a success in the sport to. Many think it's a "sissy" sport well get controversial and attack back. We have the biggest sport in the world behind us and we have to let people know we are here even if we have to piss off a few of the other sports.
Maybe someone's got a better idea but I think we need to get the message out, because we will continue to be ignored if we don't start screaming and kicking more. A new very agressive marketing campaign is needed now!!! It's a risk but that's my opinion!

    1. Ignored?

    b. MLS had the anti-sissy campaign a few years ago. As you can see it worked wonders.

Yeah, MLS should go and out and sponsor a mile of highway cleanup in every city and state. That should do it! ;)

MLS should sponsor my trip to Euro 2004. I'll even write a funny column for mlsnet.com.

I think MLS should sponser a Women's league. I heard they are more popular than Men's soccer (and better, too).

    The buzz would be AWESOME.
