Positive vibrations - We will definately make an effort to acquire the games for the FIFA World Cup(we have nothing to lose and everything to gain).

We've hosted international soccer games with success (USA v Germany) and fielded clubs from the NASL and the USL.

For those of you in Jacksonville, Florida - and surrounding areas (from Daytona Beach to St. Mary, Georgia) who want to get involved ...

post here and we will contact you on the layout of strategy and how you can get participate.

    Thanks

    Jacksonville World Cup Committee

This probably goes somewhere else in the U.S. forum. But good luck.

Individual cities do not bid for the games. Read up on the selection process

Well, I guess they could "bid"/plea with the USSF to be put on the list of possible venues.

Jacksonville is on the list of potential WC venues, but I think Jacksonville is 3rd or maybe 4th on the list of Florida cities wanted. Miami, Tampa and Orlando may all be higher up on the list.

Miami and the recently renovated(and probably again by 2018) Dolphin Stadium has to be one of the top choices in the nation. The only reason games weren't played here in '94 was the Orange Bowl was too old and then known as Joe Robbie Stadium was being used by the Marlins that summer. By 2018 or 22 the Marlins will be comfortably settled into their own stadium downtown.

Say what you want about the support for pro clubs down here but South Floridians come out in force for the international game.
