    Greetings to all (especially Albionroad):

Just got back from the homeland. While in DC my girlfriend and I met Galin Ivanov at the DC United- San Jose game. He was very nice and shocked to see another Bulgy in DC, my girlfriend is Bulgarian.

Question: Has Ivanov been dropped from the National Team???? I see that Bulgaria lost today and he was not on the roster and hasn't been in months. I should have asked him when I had the chance.

Also, we met Stoichkov (sorry about the mis-spelling) and he was a major weenie. Anyone back in DC had any experiences with him???

I see that neither Levskinor CSKA are leading the league, what is going on??? Who is this leader??? Do they have more $$$$ than the big 2???

    What's up Lanedogg!

Ivanov hasn't been with the national team for a while. I think he basically gave up his chances with the national team when he came to MLS. He would have gotten seen more by the coach if he'd stayed there but I guess he came to the US for better money, better chances after his career is over, etc.

I met Stoitchkov too and he was a bit of a jerk. I told a couple of Bulgarians about my experience and they were not surprised at all. Some other people on the boards have met him though and had a good time. Maybe it just depends on his mood.

Lokomotiv Plovdiv are the leaders of the league. I don't really know how they're doing so well. I know they certainly don't have more money than Levski or CSKA. Maybe Levski and CSKA have been distracted by playing in Europe. Also, Loko had a very easy schedule early on so they were able to jump out to a nice lead.

Nice to hear from you lanedogg. How did your girlfriend like the US?

Did you end up going to the game in Andorra?

Nope, did not make it to the Andorra-Bulgaria game. Apparently 300 people showed up but the Andorran Futbol Association had no info on how to get tix for any of their games. Amazing. Bulgaria is in the Euro so all is good, maybe next time.
