Game scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Germantown SoccerPlex.

I forgot: what kind of lighting system do they have there?

That's the club Erin Fahey played with when she was over there.

Don't know about the lighting. The preseason game with UNC was at night, wasn't it? I don't remember that being a problem (other than the cold!).

Lighting is sufficient. My paper's photographers never have a problem with it when shooting night games...

So what do we know about Energie FC? Any Russian NT regulars play for them?

    Where is it ?!?!?

Pardon my French, but where the #^$##(*& is the Maryland SoccerPlex?

Is it in some place called GermanTown? Where the &^%(^*is that?!?!?

I am from the BALTIMORE area, and have never heard of any of this $%&^*.

Sorry to be angry, but the Freedom ticket office have refused to `roll-over' my unused 2002 home-game playoff ticket to 2003. In other words, they didn't allow me to deduct $30 from my purchase of 2003 season tickets.

Instead, they want me to attend this game, which is impossible if I can't find it!

Germantown is northwest of DC, along the I-270 corridor. Directions to the Soccerplex (from the DC area, anyway) are available here.

I too am indignant that my $30 2002 home playoff tickets are now evidently worth $10 (the cost of tickets to this game). I haven't complained about it yet, though I intend to.

Add my name to the list of complainers - My Season Tix only came to $17 per game but I am also miffed at the idea of paying $7 more for a game than walkups are, season ticket holders should be paying less if anything. They'll hear from me also. I expect to at least be able to trade a semifinal ticket in for a 2003 WUSA match.

To add to it, they are apparently charging $5 for parking as well, a first in Germantown that I know of. Can we use our extra parking pass from 2002 for this (even though we paid $6 and not $5)? If not, will it be good for next year? Can we apply it for credit towards next year's parking?

The Philly bus trip offer was nice, but the team really knows how to piss off its most loyal customers...

    Huh? Indoor?

So it is an indoor soccer game?

Will it be played just like the `Victory Tours' after the `99 World Cup and `00 Olympics?

In other words, it is not a real soccer game?

It's outdoor, real 11 v 11. Whether Energy FC can play remains to be seen...

I don't think there is a less-conveinent place for this game if you're coming from Baltimore.

You pretty much have two choices: 95 to Beltway to 270 or Baltimore Beltway to 70 to 270.

Either way, it's a nearly 90 minute drive.

Re: Re: Where is it ?!?!?

Could be in northern Virginia. ;)

Meanwhile, I contacted Charlotte Holmes in the Freedom ticket office about the issue of my $30 tickets being turned into $10 ones. She responded:

    - All of the money will be donated to charity. (If I use a $30 ticket, they'll donate $30 to the Maryland Soccer Foundation.)

    - If you can't or don't want to attend the game, you can send in your tickets and get a refund.

    - If you have a leftover parking pass corresponding to the nonexistent home playoff game, you can use that for the exhibition.
