Yeah it was a great game to watch. Despite captaining Angerer on my FL team and having 4 other Thorns players on my squad, I was rooting for Boston! They looked dangerous throughout (before the RC as well), and looked inspired today.
I was amused by the laconic Boston announcers. They're pretty good on details and presentation but listening to their dead-pan delivery one would have assumed that Boston was losing again. By the way, my second favorite sporting event, after the women's world cup, is right now on television: the national spelling bee. Talk about cool heads, clutch play, and grace under pressure, these kids have it.
I noted this is the PBP thread. They were so dead each time Boston scored I was wondering if they were on tranquilizers or something. No enthusiasm whatsoever
Reeves was phenomenal, Naeher would've won WOTM if it weren't for her (I've literally never seen her play this well), Evans was a delightful surprise. I'm liking Julie King as a centerback, at least compared to our previous options. Ashley Grove needs to be deployed better, but I can't quite figure out how just yet. I was happy without Mewis on the field. Sanderson definitely had an off day. HAO was productive, but I would argue that Durkin should have put her in sooner. Ezurike did very well, I like the pairing of her with Reeves. Please, Durkin, PLEASE keep playing Nkem.
