As many of you know I'm a staunch Bolton and England fan and although I list club before country I've never been absolutely sure what I'd do is an England game clashed with a Bolton game.

Anyway on the 15th of November England play Denmark in a friendly at Old Trafford.... and Bolton play a completely meaningless friendly again Sao Paulo. I was completely shocked that it took me less than 5 seconds to decide which game to go and see. So while you're all watching the 0-0 bore-a-thon against the Danes I'll be watching Bolton get spanked by some Brazillian wonderkids.

It's a funny old game innit?

How the hell did your lot manage to arrange a game against Sao Paulo?? Well credit where it's due, and I can understand you wanting to see that instead of England-Denmark, which will most likely be incredibly dull even by the usual shite friendly standard.

Generally I suppose I have a slight preference for Country over Club, if only because the England games are mush less frequent and it's the best way to escape the crushing weight of mediocrity around the club recently. The national game every couple of months or so is a welcome distraction.

I completely agree with that. I view international games as an escape from the day to day crap and I look forward to them weeks in advance. It's also one of the few times that me and my friends get chance to meet up and drink beer so that helps. However I've seen 3 live England games so far v Finland, Sweden and Liechentstein and have generally felt ripped off at the end of all of them so I think I'll take my chances with Bolton V Sao Paulo.

Prenn, what is the problem with Jardel? He scored in bunches in Portugal and Turkey, and now they say he's out of shape. How can a professional in his 20's get out of shape? I know he had the wife issue, but that is long gone. Is there promise for him in the Premiership?
