The road to greatness must go thru the Fire.

After the contract extension for 2004, Greg A. stated that he thinks the current team is already a good team without a major overhaul.

Greg A. has to upgrade the team. I do not see how the current team can beat the Fire next year. The Fire is such a well-oiled team, just looked at how they dominated the Rev in the Eastern Conf Final match. (and that match is just one example.)

The battle is won or loss in the midfield. With the current crops of Crew midfields, we can not handle the like of Armas and Jessie Marsch. They swamed the Rev like bees in the midfield and beated the Rev midfields with ease.

We need some new great midfield players to be able to be success next year.

    No you will not.
If you do it will be because we feel sorry for you.
Like when we put a muppet in as keeper for you in the last game of the season.

With Andrulis at the helm? Not a chance. He couldn't beat the Fire B team. They had to remove a couple more players, make it a C team before we were able to put 6 past them.

With nothing but the greatest respect for the last two posters, and I mean that sincerely, this thread was started by an illiterate retard and then responded to by a mouthbreathing pubescent imbecilic troll.

I believe simply ignoring this entire piece of dog crap would be the apprepriate responxe.

    Just a suggestion, however.

Why are you guys speculating as to whether or not you can beat next year's Fire now. No one knows what next years Fire will be able to do. This year, we were picked to finish last, while you were picked to go to the cup. The Fire can come out next year and suck. I just think you should wait until after the cup, when there will be a little clearer picture of what next year's Fire will look like.

alright, enough already goddammit. we were picked to finish first' we finished last. *#*#*#*#*#cago were picked not so high, they have done well. we have a human turd as a coach, *#*#*#*#*#cago has one that can actually have a brain at times. but i don't think *#*#*#*#*#cago's cnetral midfield is this great juggernaut. yes, armas and marsh hound the ball; it's what they do. however, you will never convince me that they are great attacking players. holding the ball, yes. going forward with it, no. *#*#*#*#*#cago have played well on the outside this year, and have 2 forwards who poach well. and it also never hurts to have bocanegra on your defense and cj brown to hack, errr, i mean mark an opposing defender.

but to answer the question: yes, we can beat the fire next year. will we? not with dill-hole as the coach.

Calm down...I was having a go at you and you all get bent out of shape. The Fire are going to lose half of their squad again. Only this time they will probably go to Europe instead of other MLS teams.

Columbus had a quality side this year, but things just didn't come together. You'll do well next year.

Oh and tho the genius who responded to my earlier post calling me a neanderthal...you are one to talk considering you quoted the WWF in saying "suck it". Beacuse pro wrestling is an intelligent form of entertainment that has millions of intelligent fans.

hey lager, FWIW my post came out much more harsh than i intended it. all the "blah blah *#*#*#*#*#" symbolic nonsense that came up occured when i was trying to spell Chicago with a "SH", then an "IT", than a "AGO". that's how most of us spell the city if you haven't noticed. after i posted, and after the censorship police went to work, it came out as if i was yelling and getting all bent out of shape. that was not the intent.

as for you guys losing your squad: i doubt that. you have been saying that for the last 3 years, and your roster hasn't changed any more than any other teams. who do you expect to lose to europe? ralph may leave, yes, but who in europe would take razov? he was mediocre at best in his stay in italy. and i've been hearing that beasley is going to europe for 3 years now; basically, i'll believe it when i see it. who would sign armas, a short 30 yr old midfielder with a bum knee? and boca could get a contract elsewhere, but it will not be to the quality of clubs that his puppy-dog eyed fans think he'll go to. you guys will probably lose some good talent this off-season, but really no more than anyone else. if you're really worried about losing your studs overseas with no compensation, we'll trade you our coach for whoever you could spare.

You ASSume too much. I'm taking Archer's advice. Back to my regular scheduled "ignoring".

And I wouldn't be slamming the collective intelligence of pro wrestling fans Beacuse you can't spell.

oh...sorry for not spell checking. I am not the greatest speller in the world nor do I claim to be, but the mistakes you are pointing out are logically caused by my lack of typing skills.

Bill, I just figured that one more chance of putting down my disdain for this organization's management would make me feel better. And this place just seemed the right place to put it. Because while we have Andrulis at the helm, the Fire can come up with a team of U12 players and, if the game is meaningful to them, they'll probably win.
