Silvio Baldini .....La pedata a Di Carlo....hilarious!

He officially apologized today, first witholding it from Di Carlo, but then changed his mind and apologized to him as well.

According to La Stampa, he is facing a ban of one or two days.

That would be a relief if it's just that.

I'm pissed off that Catania keeps getting this negative reputation. Baldini's kick didn't exactly take off the "Catania is Serie A's laughing stock and disgrace" mask. And it really took away from commenting on what a game Catania played.

Catania was supposed to lose terribly against Parma, some pundits claiming it to be a 2-0. But Catania shocked Parma and everyone by holding firm and keeping it 2-2, gaining a crucial point in this difficult away game. Parma is a class ahead of Catania, but the latter is not really a punching bag in any sense of the word.
Instead of concentrating on the match, and Catania's achievement, everyone is talking about that damned kick. And a Baldini suspension won't exactly help our chances against Triestina or Genoa.

This is how intense soccer is supposed to become. I mean every regular season should matter and count. When I notice the USA sports playoff systems and how regular season games only matter for home field advantage for the playoffs, it makes one wonder exactly what is the point of really playing all out during the regular season?

    Questo e' il calcio vero!
