Last time you open the thread with a Daniel Alves picture he played great, let hope Elias experience the same, I won't hold my breath though.
Dunga's pre-game speech should be posting this lineup in the locker room: Doni, Maicon, Juan, Alex, Gilberto, Mineiro, Josue, Elano, Julio Baptista, Robinho, Vagner Love. If that team can win a CA, so can you.
Dunga's best comment in regards to this team and the historical reference people make of Brazil. We went 40 years without winning a CA and 24 years without a WC. If a selecao that was exceptional, very good, didn't win, how are we going to pressure a Selecao considered bad? In 24 years the "good" has to win.
Before we face the Argie goalie we need to survive Paraguay. Hopefully we will. Anyway, I really loved to see Zúñiga miss a PK. Decime qué se siente!
Exactly!! I really dont see us beating Paraguay, though this team is better than the Copa'11 team our piss poor passing and players not confident in shooting outside the box will do us in!!
Oh gosh, Dunga made a rather racist comment (then after a social media backlash, apologized): " I guess I'm of African descent because everyone likes to hit me" Jesus! Come on, Dunga! What an idiot!
Do we go with this lineup? Jefferson D. Alves Miranda T. Silva F. Luis Fernandinho Elias Willian Coutinho Robinho Firmino
Robinho and Willian did well against Venezuela so they should start; this is a given. The same applies to Thiago Silva and Miranda. But I think that maybe Coutinho won't start. It's been rumored that Dunga (who isn't saying anything officially, about who will start) might go with Fred (meh!), or David Luiz as an attacking midfielder, instead of Coutinho. I'd certainly like to see David Luiz in this capacity. We need someone to pierce Paraguay's defense. I still don't trust Firmino. Too irregular. But he did score against Venezuela.
Coutinho hasn't been very convincing so far in this tournament. Wouldn't surprise me if he's dropped.
********, that would embarassing. Anyway, give it to Coutinho. We've seen other players given longer stints while performing worse.
I kind of like David Luiz more when he is trying to help the attack than when he is defending - except that by pushing up he leaves huge gaps behind. So if he is actually sent to the attacking half of the field without having to worry about gaps in the back, who know if he'll become a real asset?
Robinho only 1more cap off 100 :O, I'm expecting a pretty dull game....truth be told. Some of those Paraguay players have been around for ages, Santa Cruz, Valdez and co!!!
